DEADLY CLASS Roundtable: “Rise Above”

By  |

On the latest episode of DEADLY CLASS Marcus tells the truth about Chester to Saya and they have to come up with a plan to neutralize the threat. Read on to find out what we thought of this week’s episode…

THE GOOD

Leah: I liked the insight into Marcus at the home. I mean, keeping a journal of all of this is probably not a great idea, but it helped Saya (and us) see some things we needed to get clarity on.

Roz:  I’m weirdly impressed by what happened with the Scorpio Slasher out in the world and how that helped Marcus, Saya and Billy get to some idea of Chester’s stupid plan. But it was a good use of their teacher as a way to flush out more of Marcus’ pain from the boys’ home and the reason he was there and how it relates to being a psychopath. Is he that similar to the Slasher after all? Or is the real truth about Marcus for the staff going to crumble soon.

Ange: Yes, it was great seeing French Stewart’s character again! It was nice to see Willie and Comic Book Store Girl’s flirtation last week wasn’t all in vain and that they were a thing this week.

THE BAD

Roz:  “How do we solve a problem like Maria?” should be my motto all through this episode because I both do and don’t understand her motivations in dealing with Chico’s death. While she needs to save face with his father, she’s also at the point where I don’t know what is more destructive for her – the lie of her killing Chico or the plan to cover it up so well.

Leah: Maria is probably my least favorite character that is saying something in a show with racists, animal abusers and killers running about. She needs to get her crap together and fast.

Ange: Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of Maria this episode. Also couldn’t care less about Chester and thought all the moments with him and Chico’s talking head were a bit of an overkill. Was it necessary to see Chico’s head resting next to Chester while he sat on the toilet? I think not.

THE MUSIC

Roz:  Oh this reminds me of Eurotrip, but “Ca Plane Pour Moi” was an interesting end song.

Ange: Ha! That was the only song I noticed this week.
