MANIFEST Roundtable: Hard Landing

By  |

This week on Manifest:

Michaela meets the mysterious James Griffin during a police investigation, and the passengers learn what happens when the callings fall in the wrong hands. Meanwhile, Jared finds out about Zeke, setting him at odds with Michaela and her trust in the callings.

Join us as we use our new ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

Stupid:

Roz: What did you do Michaela? Why tell him all about the callings before he turned it around to get out of jail?

Rueben: Yeah, she’s a detective dealing with a career criminal. What did she think was going to happen? That just by telling him what was going on with him (i.e., the callings) that he would just make an about-face and turn good. I was screaming at the TV when she started telling him the truth. C’mon?!

Cay: Agreed! You’d think she’d be a bit more cynical about human nature by now. Although, in her defense,  her previous police experience didn’t really prepare her for the callings. Maybe the guy will legit turn his life around? (yeah, now I’m the naive one!)

Awesome:

Roz: Ben, Gloria and Olive working together as a unit to get more information about Griffin and how he operated for the sake of that calling.

Rueben: Yeah, that was pretty great that they all worked together, and even more funny when Olive made the comment about “My Space.” That was pretty great.

Cay: Yes, now that Grace knows she is completely on board and I like Olive joining in. The My Space crack was funny and I liked them trying to figure out James’ past as Michaela was interrogating him.

So-So:

Roz: Saanvi’s new PTSD is not what we need this close to the finale.

Rueben: Yes, I have to agree. We need Saanvi at her best not dealing with PTSD.

Cay: I hope that the plot about Zeke breaking into his mother’s house amounts to something because it seemed an annoying afterthought in this episode when so much else was going on.

Your Thoughts:

Roz: Having that wolf run away is never a good sign, especially with only one more episode left.

Rueben: As soon as Michaela saw the wolf as it backed away from her and then ran off, I have to wonder if the wolf is being used as a symbol of bad for the callings.

Cay: There was a lot going on in this episode! I liked the new mystical aspects that they added. Agreed that the wolf is definitely a bad omen.
