My Countdown List for February TV

By  |

Sure February is all about Valentine’s Day for a lot of people; and while there are several movies that will celebrate that day throughout the month there are some TV highlights for viewers to look forward to February.

First of all, the longest running drama on The CW (nee The WB) is the thriller Supernatural, which is now airing its 14th season; and that means the show has a big milestone coming up: its 300th episode that will air on February 7 at 9 PM. And what will make this milestone even more incredible is the fact that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan on The Walking Dead) will be back as John Winchester, dad to series lead characters Sam and Dean. His return is a LONG time in coming, but it’ll be amazing to see him back on the show.

Then the following list includes the returns or season finales of some TV dramas that I’ve enjoyed watching:

February 16 – The third season premiere of Ransom on CBS at 8 PM
February 18 – The final episode of the debut season of Manifest on NBC at 10 PM
February 24 – When Calls the Heart will be back for the start of its 6th season on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM
February 25 – The winter premiere of the final season of Shadowhunters on Freeform at 8 PM
February 28 – The final episode of the debut season of A Million Little Things on ABC at 9:01 PM

As for the new dramas that are set to debut next month, I am most eager to see the following:

February 15 – The new FOX drama Proven Innocent will debut at 9 PM, starring Under the Dome actress Rachelle Lefevre as an uncompromising lawyer who, in her teens, was wrongfully convicted – along with her brother – of a murder. She know leads a defense firm fighting for the innocence of others.

February 27 – The official series premiere of Whiskey Cavalier will debut at 10 PM on ABC, starring Scott Foley (Scandal and Felicity) as a tough but tender FBI super-agent and Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) as a badass CIA operative, who end up leading an inter-agency team.

As for the movies that will celebrate Valentine’s Day – naturally as part of the Countdown to Valentine’s Day on the Hallmark Channel, each airing at 8 PM – there are the following:

Valentine in the Vineyard on February 2 with Rachael Leigh Cook and Brendan Penny reprising their roles from the previous Hallmark Channel movies Autumn in the Vineyard and Summer in the Vineyard.

The Story of Us on February 9 with Maggie Lawson and Sam Page starring as first loves who get a second chance at romance.

Love, Romance and Chocolate on February 16, starring network favorite Lacey Chabert and actor Will Kemp as competing chocolatiers.

Love on the Menu on February 23 with When Calls the Heart star Kavan Smith and The O.C. alum Autumn Reeser as a chef and executive who work together to save a restaurant.

Lastly, there is actually a Lifetime movie that I WANT to watch, as it focuses on one of my favorite singers from my youth. Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You will debut on February 16 at 8 PM, starring Australian singer, songwriter and actress Delta Goodrem in the title role. The film will cover Newton-John’s lasting power across more than five decades in one of the world’s toughest industries.

Make sure to come back next week to see our full list of dramas and made-for-TV movies that will air in February, and let us know what you are looking forward to watching.
