THE Gifted Roundtable: “outMatched”

By  |

The Gifted aired a new episode that focused on:

The Struckers, minus Andy, begin to rebuild their broken trust, while Thunderbird, Blink and Eclipse visit Wire, hoping to convince him to help again. But when they get there, they learn that something terrible has happened from Wire’s brother, Graph. The team discovers that the Inner Cirle is on the way to raid a mutant detention facility, so they makes moves to try to intercept them. Meanwhile, Jace is contacted by a member of the Purifiers.

Join the NiceGirls as they talk about the latest episode using our new format S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: Oh Caitlyn! What the hell was your brain thinking with the detox and then the dosing of Graph to get the answers for what’s going on at the psych ward. I get that you want your family together, but that might be one step too far for anyone else.

Leah: This show is kind of going off the rails for me…Caitlyn this episode is one more example of me looking at the screen with a WTF look on my face. No Caitlyn. Just no.

Rueben: I’ve got to agree with Roz and Leah, Caitlyn was out of control in this episode. Sure, she wants her family all back together, but she really went TOO far this time.

Lisa: Count me in. Caitlyn really went too far this time. I was disgusted with the lengths she went to in this episode. Like Leah I was like WTF?

Cay: Yea, she compromised her morals a bit here, for sure, although him shooting John four times with a shotgun didn’t really endear the junkie to me at all. I think the theme for this season is the whole ethical discussion of whether the ends will justify the means. Multiple characters are doing things that are morally questionable, but from their point of views, they are desperate and it will move them towards their desired end. What bothered me is how easily Andy seemed to best Lauren and that he actually hurt her!

AWESOME

Roz: We finally had a showdown between Andy and Lauren, and it was pretty good for a show of why they need each other to be better than that.

Leah:Let me say it again (every week apparently) SPECIAL EFFECTS!

Rueben: Sure the showdown between Andy and Lauren was pretty intense; but I found myself a little bored by this episode.

Cay: Like Rueben, I had a bit of a hard time focusing on this episode – I kept getting distracted by other things.

Lisa: The special effects are awesome! The Andy and Lauren showdown was great but there wasn’t a big Wow moment for me this week.

SO SO

Roz: This felt so slow without getting us too many answers.

Cay: this whole episode…but at least we dispensed with the question of exactly what the Frosts and Reeva were planning as an op although who exactly they retrieved we don’t know yet.

Rueben: Jace is still my issue! He wasn’t quite as annoying this time around, but I just don’t really understand why he is even involved anymore. I’m just meh with him.

Leah: Thank you Rueben. Me too!

Lisa: I agree Rueben.  Jace’s storyline is annoying. And if he joins the Mutant KKK “purifier” group that will just piss me off even more. He should just go home to his wife and try to fix his marriage. That would be more interesting than his current storyline.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: Who the heck did they get from that psych ward and what the hell can they do?

Leah: Right Roz? It might actually get exciting or maybe just scary.

Cay: I want to see Andy feeling some serious guilt next episode or gonna write him off completely. He so reminded me of Draco Malfoy in this episode!

Rueben: OMG, Cay, yes!! And, Roz is so right! All those mutants could become a problem, especially if any of them are unhinged. That could go a good way for the Underground against the Inner Circle or could really come to bite them in the ass. Does Reed really think those pills are going to help suppress his power? I think he needs to listen to Johnny and start training.

Lisa: Rueben yes!! What the hell are those pills supposed to do? I am interested to see how Lauren will be once she wakes up after Andy’s attack. I am curious how much that will change her. And just for the record I still absolutely hate Andy’s hair. It’s terrible!
