Blindspot Roundtable: Hella Duplicitous

Blindspot is back for it’s 4th season. Remi is back as her FBI hating self so everything is awash in drama.

Let’s dig into the episode with a new feature: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) Y(our Thoughts)

STUPID

Roz: I want to kill Remi/Jane for all of her misdirection, but I get that it’s a compelling way to go into this season.

Leah: Honestly this show is wearing out its welcome with me. I love the cast but this Remi crap is not going to work.

Cay: Are the symptoms of ZIP poisoning really enough to cover Jane’s new personality? It seems like that came out of nowhere just to explain how she is able to deceive everyone, especially Kurt.

Rueben: Remi/Jane was lucky throughout the episode at keeping the FBI team just out of reach of catching her and basically tricking them, but how long will that last? And what more will she attempt to do to fool them? Is there anyway to get our Jane back?

Lisa: I really don’t like Remi. I don’t know how long we will have to tolerate her but I hope our Jane returns quickly because Remi is awful.

AWESOME

Roz: I love that Tasha is around and being resourceful while dealing with all of her new situation.

Leah: Luke Mitchell! Yay!

Cay: I love that the writers found a way to still have Luke Mitchell as a character. I also love what having Jane back as Remi does in terms of interesting plotlines, as much as I hate that Jane is now evil. It was quite a clever move. I’m also super intrigued by the Zapata plot.

Rueben: How crazy was that katana fighting that opened up the episode?! I loved how they played out what was supposed to go down -via Patterson’s voiceover, et al – only to have it go so horribly awry. It was a greatly choreographed sequence for sure.

Lisa: I agree with Rueben that katana fight kicked ass! I love Rich.com and I was glad he was in this episode and wanted to see more of him. Also I was glad to see Roman as well. He works well as a figment of Remi/Jane’s hallucinations.

SO SO

Roz: Roman! I get that he needs to be there for Remi’s deterioration, but he’s been dead and I gone for ages.

Leah: For a season premier episode the whole thing was meh for me. I was sorry to see Blake go though.

Cay: Maybe the reason why Blake had to die will become clear, but I liked her character and I feel like her story was just starting when they killed her.

Rueben: I wasn’t surprised by Blake’s death, as I actually saw it coming mere seconds before it happened. When Madeline (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) looked at her watch as the others drank their drinks; she didn’t drink hers and looked just a bit too happy with the situation. And while I’m glad that Tasha was saved from the others demise, why is Madeline keeping Tasha around? What will she get out of that agreement, and what kind of danger will Tasha be in from this new Hank Crawford replacement?

Lisa: I wasn’t surprised by Blake’s death, but I don’t think it was necessary. Like Cay, I was interested to see her storyline. I just don’t see the point in killing her.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: This new complicated Remy/Jane is going to make some crazy situations, right? How long is that going to last?

Leah: I’m with Cay!

Cay: More Patterson plus Rich, please!

Rueben: I don’t like seeing Weller in this weaker state, and being so deceived by Remi/Jane to boot. I want to see our Weller come back stronger than ever. Are we going to see a slightly more pensive Reade because of Tasha leaving? And how is the whole team going to react when they learn about Tasha’s duplicity? Part of me wants to see Patterson take Tasha down for what she’s done.

Lisa: Ooh Rueben I am on board for Patterson taking Tasha down as well. That would be awesome! I want more Rich as well, he is such a great character. Can we please get our Jane back soon? I don’t like Remi at all and the longer she is around the more Weller and the team will be affected by her deception and I just don’t like it.
