MANIFEST: Melissa Roxburgh Takes on Mythic Story

By  |

Manifest worked hard during San Diego Comic Con to bring the show’s complicated premise into a common lexicon for fans and press alike this summer. Melissa Roxburgh  (Valor) auditioned for this right away and was drawn to the show’s unusual story.

She took the time to delve into Michaela’s life and her thoughts on the complicated relationship that will exist with everyone from Flight 828, though she also teased:

  • Michaela defining characters before and after the event
  • Her love life is complicated because her ex-fiance still works with her
  • The dynamic between she and brother Ben will result in many heads being butted, but for the best intentions
  • Relationships are not easy after coming back; especially for Michaela and her best friend Lourdes
  • What’s behind 828, maybe
  • Differing views to how characters approach the incident of Flight 828

Melissa sounded eager for fans to know as much as she does (though she only knows through what they’ve filmed thus far) before the show premieres on Monday. If you’re more curious about the show, the first act is available here.

Be sure to turn in on Monday night at 10PM for the premiere of Manifest on NBC and also catch up with EP Jeff Rake and co-star Josh Dallas.

Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and has been a long time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Victoria and black-ish. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore for her in the process). Contact her at roz@nicegirlstv.com.
