VIDEO: Maddie Hasson, Sarah Desjardins & Enuka Okuma talk IMPULSE
Have you watched the first season of Impulse on YouTube Premium yet? If not then you’re missing out on a compelling story and some spectacular acting. Based on the novel Jumper as well as the movie of the same name, Impulse follows 16-year-old Henrietta, aka Henry, who discovers she has the ability to teleport. The first time she realizes this, she is in a truck with her high school’s Golden Boy, who tries to rape her. She has a seizure and teleports, in the course of which she inadvertently crushes him, leaving him a paraplegic.
Maddie Hasson & Doug Limon
First up we have Maddie Hasson, the amazing talent who plays Henry, and Doug Limon, creator and executive producer. Doug tells us about bringing his big screen vision to the small screen and how that allowed him to expand the story. Maddie talks about playing a young woman who is not only a survivor of sexual assault but is learning to cope with her new teleportation powers.
Sarah Desjardins & Enuka Okuma
We also got to chat with Sarah Desjardins who plays Henry’s stepsister, Jenna, and Enuka Okuma who plays Deputy Hulce. Both actors play women learning about themselves and learning to navigate challenging worlds around them – both supernatural and professional.
The first season of Impulse is streaming now on YouTube Premium. Season 2 was announced at Comic Con and will debut in 2019.
