By  |

Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on writer and co-executive producer Kristen Reidel.

Kristen’s first big TV break was as a writer on the short-lived 2007 FOX drama Drive, which starred then relative newcomer Emma Stone and Firefly star Nathan Fillion.

From 2011 through 2013, she wore several different hats on the popular drama Nikita, which aired on The CW. She served as a story editor and executive story editor as well as a writer before taking on the mantle of being a producer on the show.

She followed that up in 2014 by serving as a producer on the FOX drama Sleepy Hollow during the shows stellar first season.

In 2015, she worked as a producer and writer on the second season of the NBC drama The Blacklist.

She then worked as a writer and supervising producer then later a co-executive producer on the second and third seasons [in 2016 and 2017] of the popular Syfy time-travelling series 12 Monkeys.

Most recently she has been working as a writer and co-executive producer on the FOX drama 9-1-1.

Using her favorite online handle, Rueben is an East Coast-bred gal who is now a permanent Californian and a lifelong tv-oholic. She watches at least 25 TV shows a week, goes to the movies as often as possible, listens to music every waking moment, reads every day and “plays” on the internet every chance she can. Some of her current favorite TV shows are Outlander, Sweet Magnolias, Wednesday, The Mandalorian, The Equalizer, Fire Country, Miss Scarlet, Hudson & Rex, SkyMed, The Rookie, Cobra Kai, Virgin River, The Witcher, Leverage: Redemption and School Spirits. She is looking forward to the long-awaited return of Bridgerton, is curious about the debut of Orphan Black: Echoes and the 3rd and final season of Sweet Tooth coming in June, and the season finales of the abbreviated 2023-2024 TV season.
