Recap: The Arrangement “Suite Revenge” {FINALE}
The second season of the E! Entertainment Network soap opera The Arrangement came to an end on Sunday night, bringing the story of Megan Morrison and Kyle West to quite a climax, giving viewers a few surprises, revelations and quite a startling ending.
Here is the tagline for the episode entitled “Suite Revenge”:
Megan comes to a decision about her relationship with Kyle; Kyle makes a move that could upend his entire life; Terence and DeAnn move forward with a plan that could change everything.
The Morning Of…and The Wedding
On the morning of her wedding, Megan Morrison is actually at the home of her former co-star Xavier Hughes, leaving viewers wondering just what happened between the two after that spectacular lip-lock in the previous episode. Seeing Megan scantily clad didn’t leave much to the imagination either.
But, after a pseudo heart-to-heart with Deann, Megan arrived at the wedding of the century that felt – at least for me – almost like a Stepford Wives cult-like ceremony. Don’t get me wrong it was very lavish and beautiful – given the seaside locale and all the money that was laid out for the soiree – but it just seemed so rehearsed and almost too perfect.
In fact, after the ceremony and celebration, it was clear that Megan was merely acting for the crowd because she abruptly left her bridegroom before they even barely got off the property. Her former manager, Leslie, picked her up, leaving Kyle all alone on his wedding night. It sucked to be Kyle at that precise moment.
Double Cross…or Tripe Cross
While it seemed that Deann was planning both sides of the fence, feeding Megan exactly what she wanted to hear all the while siding with her devious husband Terence [I never thought I could hate Michael Vartan so much!], it was all a double cross…or was that a triple cross?
Everything she had said to Megan was true and everything she did with Terence was simply to appease him; or more to the point fool him into implicating himself in attempted murder of perhaps the most famous woman in Hollywood – at least in that universe.
Deann had been orchestrated everything from the very beginning – since Megan’s and Kyle’s first introduction to each other during that chemistry read in the debut episode. Deann saw something in Megan that no one else – especially not Terence – could see: Megan was going to be Deann’s Kyle West. And by recording Terence playing out exactly what “they” were going to do to Megan in order to get her out of the picture [make look like she OD’d], he was caught. They had him! [But I wouldn’t count Terence out, he is nothing short of a snake!]
Surprises and Revelations
In order to convince Megan that he could be truthful, Kyle decided to admit EVERYTHING to big TV interviewer Iris Holloway; a move that would basically ruin his career. He did this because Megan believed he was the reason for Julie and Aaron Woolth’s disappearance. Unfortunately, that blame lay at the feet of Megan’s supposed best friend, Shaun, who revealed to Megan that she was the one who spirited the Woolth siblings away. Kyle wasn’t involved at all and he ruined his career over a secret that Shaun shared a little too late. And because that truth came out at the wrong time, Kyle had had enough. He informed Megan that she would abide by every last stipulation in their arrangement or he would ruin her the way she (helped) ruin him. There was only one problem in that demand. Megan told him, “You think you can control me? Good luck!”
What did you think of the wedding of the century? How about that revelation by Shaun? Or the double (triple) cross by Deanna? Please share your thoughts on the show’s season finale below.
E! Entertainment Network has yet to announce if The Arrangement will be renewed for a third season.
