VIDEO: The 100 at Comic Con 2017 and Season 5 Expectations
The CW post-apocalyptic drama The 100 will be back for the start of its fifth season on April 24, coming back after a very tumultuous, time-traveling season finale that found all the survivors on Earth attempting to find safety from the radioactive pyroclastic death wave – aka praimfaya – that was going to decimate the planet.
While many of the survivors took refuge in the Second Dawn bunker [let’s not even try to discuss the complications involved in the lottery system for the bunker], Clarke and her group attempted to launch the rocket at the lab on A.L.I.E.’s island, which would take them to the decaying remains of The Ark.
The shocking reveals at the end of that season finale were these events:
• While Clarke remained behind on Earth, making sure the rocket was able to lift off into space, she was affected by radiation;
• The others in the rocket made it to The Ark, and just barely survived until the oxygen generator was installed;
• And, the show jumped SIX years and SEVEN days into their future, finding Clarke alive on Earth, still holding out hope to reach those on The Ark until a spacecraft lands on Earth…but, that ship wasn’t from The Ark, and could hold a deadly foe for those on Earth.
The “full” description of the season five premiere episode, entitled “Eden,” is as follows:
“Clarke struggles to survive on a desolate, scorched earth while her friends in space come across a long-awaited beacon of hope.”
Needless to say, that doesn’t give much away or provide much insight into what fans can expect, but The 100 has always been great about providing viewers with the unexpected.
