My Top 12 Choices for May TV
It’s that time of the month for me to take a look at what I am looking forward to watching on TV next month as the 2017-2018 season comes to a close.
The full May TV calendar, featuring lots of season finales, the return of a number of cable dramas as well as made-for-TV movies, will be posted closer to the end of the month.
SEASON FINALES
Among the many finales that will air next month, the following are the shows I want to see the most:
May 16 – The Blacklist (1 hour at 8 PM on NBC)
May 16 – Rise (1 hour at 9:01 PM on NBC)
May 16 – Timeless (1 hour at 10 PM on NBC – special night)
May 17 – Supernatural (1 hour at 8 PM on The CW)
May 17 – Arrow (1 hour at 9 PM on the CW
May 18 – Blindspot (1 hour at 8 PM on NBC)

SEASON PREMIERES
Several dramas will be back with new seasons in May, but the ones that follow are the series I am most anticipating their return:
The third season of Colony will return on May 2 on the USA Network at 10 PM.
The second season of X Company will return on May 7 on Ovation at 10 PM.
The second season of Six will return on May 28 on the History Channel at 10 PM.
MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES
On May, the 3-part PBS mini-series Little Women will debut 8 PM. Set against the backdrop of the Civil War and based on the classic novel, the story follows sisters Jo (Maya Hawke), Meg (Willa Fitzgerald), Beth (Annes Elwy) and Amy March (Kathryn Newton) on their journey from childhood to adulthood. With the help of their mother, Marmee (Emily Watson), and while their father is away at war, the girls navigate what it means to be a young woman: from sibling rivalry and first love, to loss and marriage. The cast includes veteran actress Angela Landsburg, Jonah Hauer-King and Michael Gambon.
And on May 19, the new Hallmark Channel movie Royally Ever After will debut at 9 PM. Sara’s (Fiona Gubelmann) dream of finding the perfect mate is realized when boyfriend Daniel (Torrance Coombs) proposes marriage, but there is one tiny hitch. It turns out he is the real-life prince of a small European monarchy, and his marriage requires the approval of his royal parents. Commoner Sara will have to do more than simply impress the in-laws-to-be. If she wants to become Daniel’s wife, she’ll have to prove she’s got all the makings of an honest-to-goodness princess.
