WOMEN OF THE WEEK
Hey lovelies it’s that time again where we all get together and pick our favorite Women of the Week. Drop us a line in the comments with your favorites and let us know what you think of our picks.
Annie Murphy as Alexis Rose on Schitt’s Creek
Nominated by Leah: Alexis started out a very spoiled, jet setting debutante and Annie played that like a comic genius. However, this season Alexis has shown so much growth. She went back and graduated from high school, she turned down an offer that would have put her back into her more glamorous life because she recognized she was building something where she was. And then last night she “spoke her truth” to the man she is in love with. Something that is hard for even the most self assured of us. She also turned down the ridiculously good looking Mutt, played by Tim Rozon. It’s a testament to her new more genuinely confident attitude. I love when a show can make you genuinely care about a character. That is thanks to Annie Murphy and her portrayal of this transition so beautifully and with such depth.
Seconded by Melissa: She’s done incredible character work over four seasons without ever losing what makes Alexis so much fun. She’s endearing and frustrating and hilarious and wistful. And I still love how she pronounces “David”.
Aubrey Plaza as Lenny Busker on Legion
Nominated by Karen: If only for the dance battle sequence. But she’s always compelling, and even in a smaller role for the S2 premiere, she’s amazing. I can’t wait to see more from her character this season.
I watched the S2 Premiere of @LegionFX last night. Third time. I used the fact that hubs still needed to see it as an “excuse”. I regret nothing. 10/10 would do again. #SorryNotSorry
