The Arrangement Recap: “Scene 23”

By  |

There was quite a bit going on in last night’s new episode of The Arrangement on E! Entertainment between Kyle West dealing with bad press and even worse reviews for his latest movie The Kill Plan; Megan continuing in her quest to bring down the Institute of the Higher Mind and Deann dealing with the unexpected death of her college friend and secret lover Mason.

Kyle

In the midst of the release of his latest movie – The Kill Plan (which was supposed to star his fiancée Megan Morrison but whose part was recast with a more supposedly “bankable” leading lady) – and the subsequent tanking of said movie, Kyle was dealing with his debut as a director on the much ballyhooed “Technicolor Highway.”

Given the fact Kyle has been in the industry for SO long he knows how to put on his game face with the press but behind closed doors, he was even putting on his game face with Megan; but he did finally open up to her, sharing that the whole experience has been “totally humiliating.” I guess even Kyle West is human.

Megan

While she may be over all the stomach issues for which she has been suffering (although I have a feeling those pains will be back to haunt her even more in the weeks to come), her pledge to bring down IHM seems to be falling apart. Her best friend Shaun is taking a step back from the cause because Megan chose to reach out to former friend Hope for help, which – naturally – backfired. And the very person who she thought might be able to give her intel on the evil inner workings of IHM turned out to be none other than Kyle’s assistant Zach. I have to admit I was a bit surprised by Megan turning against Zach in that final scene, but given the revelation made by Zach that Big Brother (aka Terence) has eyes and ears everywhere, she’s probably safer not talking to him on the set of Technicolor Highway.

Terence and Deann

I can’t say that I’ve been a fan of either of these characters – I really hate Terence! – and Deann is just a big question mark (there are moments where I like her, there are moments where I can’t stand her and then there are moments where I just want to bitch-slap her into next week) – I have to say that this whole absurd idea of their becoming parents is just pathetic. According to Terence, they would make good parents. Is he high? Drunk? Or just stupid? Give me a break! And then Deann told him “let’s really try!” What?! I can easily hazard a guess that this new-found interest in having a child is because of Mason’s unexpected death, but they honestly think they will be good parents – please!!

Hope

Seeing Megan’s former friend Hope – the one who released those naked pictures – was a bit of a surprise. I knew Hope’s return would be tied back to Megan’s goal of bringing down IHM, but now that Megan has allowed Hope back into her life – even as infinitesimal as that return was – it’s going to come back to bite her in the ass.

Shaun

Okay, this girl is starting to drink the Kool-Aid by the gallon. She not only agreed to participate in that IHM seminar that seemed tailor-made to humiliate her and give Terence even more control over her but she also took a step away from her best friend Megan. Sure Megan made the wrong move by contacting Hope, but Shaun chose herself or more to the point IHM over her friendship with Megan. Put down the Kool-Aid, open your eyes and see IHM for what it is: a cult that is not making you a better person, Shaun.

What are your thoughts on last night’s episode? What do you think of Shaun’s decisions? Do you think Terence and Deann should be having a kid? Do you think at some point Kyle is going to have a breakdown? Please share your thoughts below.

The next new episode of The Arrangement will air on E! Entertainment on Sunday, April 8 at 9/8c.
