TIMELESS: The Darlington 500

By  |

This week on TIMELESS the Time Team makes its way to 1950 where Wyatt learns a stock car driver he admired as a child is actually a Rittenhouse sleeper agent. They are already altering history. The team races back to stop whatever plan Rittenhouse has in mind.

Leah’s Thoughts:
The Good
You know what my most favorite thing about Timeless is? Whenever I watch an episode, even if it is an episode where I already know the historical person I end up online looking up things about them. Learning things I didn’t know. I didn’t know anything about Wendell Scott before watching this episode, but after watching I looked up so many different things. I guess this show makes me feel smarter. So yay for that! It was especially nice to have a historical figure Rufus could interact with.
On a less educational note we got another almost kiss from Lucy and Wyatt. They have the best chemistry. Love them.

The Not So Good
Emma. Kudos to the actress for making me dislike her character so much. We have email and text conversations back and forth that often center on just how awful she is.

Roz’s Thoughts:
The Good
I just love that the show had admitted we can’t just have Lucy try and fix history like we did last season. I worried that the premise would feel stale, but in stead I’m happy to see the show adjusting to new ideas and creating many new issues for the team. I mean, the 1950s in the South were no good, but they were really bad for guys like Wendell Scott. That we get to see the problems in the world and find ways to talk about them makes me smile.

The Not So Good
Lucy’s grandpa! Oh that last scene made me scream! Just how far-fetched that painting was and what he wants to do makes me cringe. It’s also too close to some current political situations (which I guess makes it relate-able but also slightly depressing), because his plan on cutting off the fat of humanity is not going to end well for any of us.

Timeless airs Monday 10/9c on NBC

Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and has been a long time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Victoria and black-ish. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore for her in the process). Contact her at roz@nicegirlstv.com.
