My “Lucky” 13 for March TV Viewing
Spring is only a month away, the days are slowly getting a little longer and there is plenty of good programming on the horizon. After looking over the very full schedule of programming options for next month, I have narrowed down my top choices to a “lucky” 13.
TIME TO SAY GOODBYE (FOR NOW)
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World will air its final episode on March 6 at 10 PM on ABC.
The Fosters will air its season finale at 8 PM on Freeform on March 13.
That same night (March 13) the season finale of This Is Us will air on NBC at 9 PM.
LET’S GET THIS PROGRAMMING PARTY STARTED
The second season of the Netflix streaming series Marvel’s Jessica Jones will debut online on March 8.
The much anticipated second season premiere of Timeless will air at 10 PM on NBC on March 11.
LET’S WELCOME THE NEWCOMERS
The CW will introduce the new series Life Sentence on March 7 at 9 PM. When Stella Abbott (Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars) finds out her terminal cancer is cured, she’s going to have to learn to live with all the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying”. The cast includes Elliot Knight (Sinbad and Once Upon a Time), Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck) and Riley Smith (Nashville and Frequency) [among others].
On March 13, the pilot of the much-buzzed-about NBC drama Rise will air at a 10:01 PM. The show is focused on dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli (Josh Radnor from How I Met Your Mother), who sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theater department. The cast includes Amy Forsyth (Defiance and The Path), Auli’i Cravalho (the voice of Moana), Marley Shelton (The Lottery) and Rosie Perez [among others].
The new Syfy drama Krypton will debut on March 21 at 10 PM. Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, the series follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe from The Halcyon) – whose House of El was ostracized and shamed – as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The cast includes Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch) and Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) [among others].
LET’S CELEBRATE SPRING
The following new Hallmark Channel movies will celebrate spring romance:
Love, Once and Always on March 10 at 9 PM, starring Amanda Schull, Peter Porte and Vanessa Bell Calloway
The Sweetest Heart on March 17 at 9 PM, starring Julie Gonzalo and Chris McNally.
Royal Matchmaker on March 24 at 9 PM, starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Will Kemp.
Home by Spring on March 31 at 9 PM, starring Poppy Drayton and Steven R. McQueen.
NOTE: There is the possibility that these movies may air out of order from the above. Check your local listings for confirmation of airtime and airdates.
MAKING A COMEBACK
The beloved 1970’s movies based on Benji, that lovable little dog, is back with an all-new movie on Netflix on March 16, featuring Kiele Sanchez (The Glades and Kingdom), Angus Sampson (Shut Eye and Fargo), Will Rothhaar (Last Resort and Battle: Los Angeles), Darby Camp (Big Little Lies) and Gabriel Bateman (American Gothic and Outcast).
Our full March calendar, focusing on major and cable network dramas, new and returning streaming series and made-for-TV movies, will be posted this coming weekend.
