2018 Holiday TV Guide

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – holiday movie time! Between Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Freeform, Lifetime, Netflix, and UPtv, get ready for non-stop Christmas cheer!

Beginning October 27, The Hallmark Channel airs holiday movies all day and all night, with 22 new holiday movies premiering this year as part of their “Countdown to Christmas” festivities. On top of that, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will debut 15 new holiday movies as part of its “Miracle of Christmas” event.

We’re also getting 14 new holiday movies from Lifetime (featuring cast reunions from One Tree Hill and The Cosby Show), seven from UPtv, three from Freeform, and four original holiday movies from Netflix, including a sequel to last year’s surprise hit, The Christmas Prince.

We’ve created a handy round-up of 2018’s holiday movies for you below, plus we’ll be reviewing as many of them as we can in between decking our halls and baking holiday treats. (Note: some of these movies are currently in production, so premiere dates may change.)

Christmas at Pemberley Manor

As Christmas approaches; a New York event planner (Lowndes) is sent to a small town to organize a holiday festival.  When she arrives, she finds a high-profile billionaire (Rady) — who lacks holiday spirit — in the process of selling the charming estate she hoped to use as a venue.  Before long, the unlikely pair begins falling for each other.  But when complications arise, the couple parts ways and the billionaire moves forward with his plans to sell the estate.  On the night before Christmas, the young event planner wishes for a Christmas miracle to save the estate and rekindle her holiday romance.

To keep her Aunt focused on healing, Joy volunteers to take Ruby’s place with the town’s legendary baking competition, the “Cookie Crawl.” Joy initially refuses Ben’s attempts to “co-captain,” but begins to soften and let him in, all the while remembering that there truly is no place like home. Julia finds that though she gets plenty of family time, Audrey can’t say no to anyone, which gives her no time for herself. During his visit, Ellie is to teach Nick how to make a Kringle, and determined to show him it’s the people who make the business a success, not machines. Nick meets more of the employees and townspeople, visits the food bank and begins to see all the kindness that is shared, and he
begins to soften – though not convinced automation isn’t better. Struggling with chasing her own entrepreneurial dreams, Ellie begins to fall for Nick but not before feeling betrayed when she inadvertently sees Nick’s laptop filled with automation plans. When Nick finally tells the employees his future ideas for the company, Ellie must decide if she should trust him, but more importantly, whether or not to take a leap of faith in making her own dreams come true.

On her way to visit her hometown of Evergreen, Lisa (Wagner) meets Kevin (Deklin), when his car is stalled on the side of the road.  Though his car quickly – and perhaps miraculously – restarts, the pair soon after crosses paths again in Evergreen.  Reconnected by Evergreen restaurant owner Carol (Niven), Lisa and Kevin work together to restore a general store they used to visit as children.  Sparks fly between them and they quickly find themselves contemplating permanent moves to Evergreen.  Evergreen’s Christmas magic, which brought town veterinarian Allie (Williams) love the year before, not only inspires love for Lisa and Kevin, but also connects the kindhearted Michelle (Peete) with a single dad visiting his son for the holidays.  While romance blossoms for the two couples, the town comes together to try to grant a Christmas wish written in a letter to Santa years ago. “Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa” is the second movie installment of holiday stories based on the collection of fine art by Hallmark Cards’ master artist and illustrator, Geoff Greenleaf.

When her Aunt Jane (Gifford) senses she has mixed emotions over the engagement, she invites Paula to her Nantucket home. Upon her arrival, Paula plans a trip to the nearby island of Martha’s Vineyard where she meets Gery (Campbell), a charming inn owner. When bad weather prevents her from departing, Paula winds up staying at Gery’s inn and enjoying local holiday festivities alongside him. Jolie, a professional web designer, is hesitant; so, Naomi, a lawyer, creates a Christmas contract to give them both something they want—a buffer for those awkward moments around Jolie’s ex and a website to help sell Jack’s upcoming novel.
