Did You Know: TV and Movie Trivia

By  |

For a good portion of this year, I have been compiling “Did You Know” trivia items to share with our readers, as part of my life-long love of collecting entertainment trivia. Here are the latest trivia tidbits from the worlds of TV and movies that I want to share. I would love to know if any of our readers knew about any of the items below:

COMMERCIAL APPEAL

Almost everyone has seen the classic 1984 movie The Terminator, which starred Linda Hamilton, Michel Biehn and Arnold Schwarzenegger, at least in one way or another. As some viewers and/or fans of the movie will recall, actress Marianne Muellerleile was the “other” Sarah Connor who was taken out inside her very own home by The Terminator during the movie. Marianne has a very lengthy acting resume, but she is currently featured in a new McDonald’s commercial that is quite comical.

You can check out that funny commercial here.

SIX, ER, FOUR DEGREES OF SEPARATION

Did You Know…

there is a connection between the 1970’s/1980’s classic sitcom The Jeffersons and next month’s much anticipated box office film Justice League?

Here is that interesting four degrees of separation:

• the late actress Roxie Roker, who played Helen Willis in The Jeffersons for 10 seasons, is the mother of singer, songwriter, actor and record producer Lenny Kravitz;
Lenny Kravitz was married to actress Lisa Bonet (of The Cosby Show fame) from 1987 to 1993 (and they are the parents of actress Zoe Kravitz – who has appeared in the Divergent franchise movies);
• In 2007, actress Lisa Bonet married actor Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis, The Red Road and Frontier); and,
Jason Momoa will appear as Arthur Curry (aka Aquaman) in next month’s Justice League [as well as 2018’s stand-alone movie Aquaman].

MOVIE TRIVIA

Did You Know…

that actress Catherine Bell (from JAG, Army Wives and the Good Witch franchise) was the body double (so to speak) for Meryl Streep in the 1992 movie Death Becomes Her? Yep, she was and the following video is proof:

And you can see the final scene with Ms. Streep in the movie within the video that follows:

Did You Know…

that actor Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings franchise) got his first big break on the big screen in the Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis 1985 film Witness? He played Moses Hochleitner.

Did You Know…

that actress Shailene Woodley appeared in other movies with her Divergent co-stars Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort – both of whom played her love interests in those films. Shailene and Ansel starred in the 2014 film The Fault in Our Stars while Shailene and Miles will appear in the 2013 movie The Spectacular Now.

Did You Know…

that actors Austin Butler and Carter Jenkins – who are now the buff, hunky stars of the TV shows The Shannara Chronicles and Famous in Love (respectively) – appeared in the 2009 action comedy Aliens in the Attic.

Did You Know…

that actor Shawn Roberts – who has starred in two of the Resident Evil films as well as numerous Hallmark Channel movies – was the boyfriend who kissed Rogue, ending up in a coma for three weeks, in the very first X-Men movie from 2000.

Did you know about any of the above trivia?
