Rueben's Ramblings
Merry Christmas 2016
I am celebrating my 9th year as a NiceGirlsTV contributor and I have had an incredible time working with all of the great ladies who write for this site.
As I have been doing for most of those years, I have made a wish list of the Christmas gifts I would most like to find underneath my tree this holiday season.
Here they are in no particular order:
1. Battlestar Galactica – I was 10 years old when the original series first debuted on television; and then 25 years later I got to experience, along with countless other viewers (new and old), the reimagined version from executive producer Ron Moore. It’s been six years since the complete series was released on DVD and I still have yet to add it to my collection. Needless to say, it’s on this year’s wish list.
2. Commissioned Artwork by Jason Palmer – For over 10 years now, I have been a big fan of artist Jason Palmer, collecting many pieces of his amazing artwork that grace nearly every wall in my small little home in Los Angeles. I have been dreaming for years about getting Jason to do a commission piece of my favorite TV couples (past and present), and that is one of my top items for this year’s wish list.
3. Outlander Books – I own the first five books in the series by internationally-renowned author Diana Gabladon, and I want to add the remaining books “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” “An Echo in the Bone” and “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood” to my collection [as well as any more books that “she” herself decides to write to continue the story of Jamie and Claire Fraser].
4. Dark Ink Artwork – This past July while walking around the exhibit hall at Comic Con 2016, I discovered a cool piece of artwork of the Firefly crew and their ship Serenity created by someone other than Jason Palmer, and just loved it, which puts it on my wish list for this Christmas. Check out the picture below:
5. When Calls the Heart – This Hallmark Channel series is going into its fourth season, and I have loved the show since the debut movie aired on Valentine’s Day in 2014. I’d love to have that movie as well as the first three seasons on DVD. They are sold in separate collections for each season right now, but eventually I’m sure they’ll have a box collection that will maybe find its way under my tree.
Those are my top 5 must-have items for this holiday season. What do you want to get for Christmas this year? Please share in our comments section below.
Happy Holidays!!
