BLINDSPOT Roundtable: Her Spy’s Harmed
Blindspot took on the Snowden story last night with a twist that brought some of Shepard’s early dealings into light. The team split up this week sending Weller and Nas to Bulgaria to track Winter aka “Snowden”. Jane went on a mission with Roman to get the last piece needed for Shepard’s plan. Zapata helped (or maybe hurt) Reade cover up his proximity to a dead suspect.
Nas and Weller? Love it or hate it?
Cay: Hate it. Weller needs to keep it in his pants! Nas is a co-worker, we don’t know much about her, and he’s got that whole baby-mamma situation already. Not to mention they were one room over from the rest of their “team” and in the middle of a mission. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Rueben: I hate it too! In fact, I was screaming at Weller not to do it. Just a stupid decision when they’re on a mission and, like Cay said, the rest of the “team” was in the next room. It’s just an all-around dumb idea to have them together in every sense of the word.
Roz: HATE IT! I just need Weller to not follow his *bleep* and focus on something else.
Leah: Hated it. What the ever loving *inseart swear word here* is wrong with Weller? Shame on him for the person, the timing and all of the loss of respect he now has from me.
Are all CIA guys douches?
Cay: on this show, it sure seems like it
Rueben: I agree, Keaton was an ass – and his only redeeming quality was that he did come in to the safe house to safe their lives. Otherwise, he is simply a dick.
Roz: Yeah, they’re all douches. I don’t think I know anyone in the CIA that seems like a good guy. Or girl.
Leah: Apparently, yes. Why they have to go around bragging about torturing someone is beyond me.
How do you like Blindspot’s version of Snowden? Glad it finally connected to Jane and Roman’s mission?
Cay: He’s sure not quite as slick as Snowden seems to be. It is nice to finally get another piece of the puzzle although that hacker could get annoying fast if he becomes recurring.
Rueben: Agreed, Winter (the hacker) was annoying and I hope that his specific story ends; but his story did give us another look into what Shepherd and Roman have been doing but not what the end game is. Why did they go after Winter?
Roz: He’s not as good as Snowden, but he does service a purpose in the overall narrative of Jane’s role in the FBI. I’m glad it connects to all these issues with Roman and Sheppard.
Leah: I was wondering how Jane’s story from the episode was going to tie in to the Winter story. I’m glad they chose to make their Snowden a bumbling hacker who was framed rather than a super smart organizer. It was one of the light upbeat spots in the episode.
Lies beget more lies….This mess with Reade can’t get better, right?
Cay: He and Zapata are in deep now! They’ve destroyed evidence, stolen evidence, blackmailed a witness…this seems unlikely to just go away. Then again, every boy on those tapes had a reason to kill him, so it really might not have been Reade. How about that gratuitous “we’d better strip down to our undies and burn our clothes” scene?
Rueben: Yeah, that was “convenient” wasn’t it? I guess they needed a nearly naked scene in the episode and that was the only way to go it? As for the whole Reade “issue”. Good grief, they are going to be in hot water if any of what they did leaks out; and you know something is going to either get leaked or someone will slip. It’s not going to end well, that’s for sure.
Roz: DUDE WHAT ARE YOU BOTH DOING? It’s not going to be better until someone finally confronts him about what happened.
Leah: What is wrong with them? How do they not remember how messed up it was last season when they all had secrets. Now they have more secrets and it is bound to come out. There is no way this can stay…secret. Not to mention they have now crossed a pretty big legal line. Recovery from this won’t be easy.
Guesses on how Weller knows Sheppard?
Cay: Based on recent history, he probably slept with her at some point…seriously though, I have no idea.
Rueben: I have a feeling that since she said told Jane she was military – that’s how she found Roman and Jane – that maybe she was part of his military school, or one of the teachers or staff at the school. But that’s just a guess.
Roz: I think Sheppard’s been following Weller around or was part of his schooling.
Leah: I have to agree with the gals above – military school has my vote.
