GILMORE GIRLS A YEAR IN THE LIFE Gets Premiere Date, First Trailer

Welp, I know what I’ll be doing on Black Friday this year! Netflix is offering an alternative to shopping – or an accompaniment to online shopping? – in the form of four new, 90-minute Gilmore Girls episodes!

A Year in the Life, four telemovies that take place over the course of one year, will drop Friday, November 25 on Netflix. Meaning I won’t have a reason to leave the house the day after Thanksgiving.

So what can we expect from the four-part series? I’m glad you asked. Thanks to the teaser trailer, we know that certain establishments and customs in Stars Hollow never change. Has there ever been a more charming town square? Is there a twinkle light factory nearby supplying the town with endless lighting for all of its festivals?

We also get a glimpse of the dynamics between grown-up Rory and Lorelai, and it’s both familiar and fresh. Rory is still clearly the adult here, and I can’t help but wonder of Lorelai is unhappy about the proliferation of smart phones so she can be fact-checked at a moment’s notice. Looking back at OG Lorelai, she’s always enjoyed the whimsy of not knowing some things for sure.
