Wynonna Earp Recap: “House of Memories”

By  |

Here is the official synopsis of last night’s episode of Wynonna Earp:

An admirer with a gruesome vendetta has someone familiar in a tight spot, while Wynonna races to outwit Bobo Del Rey – and protect Dolls from a new foe.

Who Is the Real Heir?

With the unexpected return of missing sister Willa, it would seem there are now two heirs to the Peacemaker, but there can only be one. But which sister is the true one?

Can Willa Get Her Memories Back

Dolls attempted to hypnotize Willa to help her remember what happened to her after she was taken, but she only glimpsed pieces of her past until she and youngest sister Waverly figured out what the origami swan from her memories symbolized: the Swan Reservoir. This is where the sisters discovered a treehouse where Willa was kept by the Stone Witch herself. It was in this treehouse where her memories were taken and where the Stone Witch simply allowed Willa to walk out the door.

Tracking Down the Mercenaries

After the events at the homestead, Dolls and Wynonna intended to find out who was (is) gunning for him and it turned out to be Rangers who were hired by the Judge at Bobo’s request. Then when Wynonna and Dolls go to Shorty’s Saloon to confront the Judge they stop him from trying to kill himself. Before he actually took his life, though, they learned that Bobo is holding a party at the Wainwright Hotel for which the entire town has been invited to attend.

What’s “The Lead”

It would seem there is a treasured letter – one that Wynonna and Willa hid in their barn all those years ago before Willa was taken – that Bobo needs to reclaim. In that letter it explained how to stop the Earp curse – that on the Winter Solstice the current Earp has to crossover willingly. Daddy Earp was prepared to do that before Willa’s disappearance, but Bobo deceived him; but now he seemed hell-bent on taking Willa with him.

Who Took Doc (Revealed)

It would seem that Bobo had a questionable chemist named Bubba working on saltpeter that would affect humans in very bad ways; and he was the one who took Doc down. Bubba was holding him captive until Doc was able to escape and get to the Winter Solstice in time to see Dolls and Wynonna FINALLY kiss! [Say what?!]

Winter Solstice

The party at the Wainwright Hotel was nothing more than a ruse to poison all of the townspeople with the aforementioned saltpeter, which was heavily laced in the champagne that was generously provided at the party. The price to receive the antidote for which Bobo claims is real: capturing Wynonna Earp. Doc figured out what was happening before anything could be done for the rest of the town [thankfully the Earp sisters, Dolls and Deputy Haught didn’t partake].

Making a Sacrifice

In the final scene, Willa meet up with Bobo with that origami swan in her hand and seemed to be willing to leave with Bobo, but she’s got the Peacemaker in the bag she carries over her shoulder. Will she use it on him? Will Dolls and the rest of the team be able to protect Wynonna from the crazed townsfolk?

The season finale of the debut season of Wynonna Earp will air on Syfy on Friday, June 24 at 10/9c.
