Outlander News: Extended Season Finale and Marathon of Season Two

By  |

Attention Outlander Fans!

It was recently revealed that the season finale of the Outlander’s second season will actually run 90-minutes and will feature the introduction of Claire and Jamie’s grown daughter Brianna (to be played by Sophie Skelton) and grown Roger Wakefield (to be played by Richard Rankin), the adopted son of Reverend Wakefield.

Here is the full synopsis of the season finale (SPOILER ALERT!):

Flashing forward to 1968, Claire travels to Scotland with her twenty-year-old daughter, Brianna, and meets Roger Wakefield. Claire visits Lallybroch and Culloden Moor to make peace with the past, while Brianna and Roger bond over researching Randall family history. Claire finally reveals the truth to Brianna about her time travel through the stones, her life in the 1700’s Scotland, and Brianna’s true parentage.

The story is intercut with another one set in the 18th century, taking place on the day of the Battle of Culloden. When Jamie’s last ditch attempts to deter The Prince fail, he and Claire come up with a dangerous plan – which Dougal overhears, inciting him to a murderous rage. Jamie must do everything he can to save the ones he loves, even if it means saying goodbye to some — or all — of them.

The season finale of Outlander will air on Starz on Saturday, July 9 at 9 PM.

Fans should also take note that there will be a season two marathon on July 2, starting at 12 Noon (Eastern).
