HUN_ReganquoteLearning to perform as a different species was a complicated task. Britne had plenty of support in becoming Regan. “We had a lovely coach who really helped us figure out how Hunters move and what their ticks  are. These movements aided in feeling grounded in the character.”  Britne explained that her kickboxing training helped her in “being a strong agile creature. It was a challenge, but was something I would gladly do again.”

The show creators Natalie Chaidez and Gale Anne Hurd wanted the series to be as real as possible. Prosthetics Supervisor Justin Dix played a huge part in the realisim.  “We were so fortunate to be working with Justin. He did a lot of practical things. “We Rarely used a green screen. It was such a treat. We had everything right in front of us. It definitely added to the show It added to the show. It’s kind of the heart of it.”

HUN_uneasyallianceWhen asked about her character, Britne was enthusiastic. “Regan is a very strong woman and I have been very fortunate to have played a string of fairly  strong female characters. She’s intuitive and she’s still incredibly sensitive to her surroundings and the people around her. It’s very complicated and quite beautiful. Navigating in that world was pretty powerful and I found out a lot about myself in the process.”

The actress also pulled from some of her own experiences in creating Regan. “ I can identify with Regan a lot more than I like to admit in the sense that specifically I reached to my childhood for this character. In school I was definitely an outcast. I was a nerd, kind of a loner. I really touched upon that awkwardness of not knowing where I belonged and kind of floating from group to group and always feeling restless.”

“Julian’s character McCarthy is such a spectacular deviance!”
