iZombie reflects on what used to be
In the episode leading up to next week’s two-hour season finale, it doesn’t seem the iZombie characters are going to get a happy ending.
Zombies exist It’s time to let Babineaux in on the fact that zombies exist. If he figures it out on his own, and is able to believe it, he’s probably not going to be very forgiving of those who left him in the dark. Liv, you want so badly for Babineaux to trust you and to justify your zombie deeds by solving cases, maybe you should return the favor? Don’t you trust him by now?
It’s chaotic After his tranq nap, Major confesses to Ravi that he’s not killing the missing zombie, but kidnapping and freezing them. You know, just to buy some time until Ravi finishes the zombie cure and can save them. No pressure at all, huh, Major? The boys agree to keep this a secret from Liv fearing that her knowing will cause her to get herself killed. Now full on zombie, Major drinks his first brain-flavored smoothie. “It tastes nasty, but feels great.”
Is he faking it? While Liv and crew are convinced Blaine is faking the memory loss, his henchmen are taking advantage of the situation. They tell him to take care of the “upstairs’ business” while they take care of the downstairs business. Blaine goes to Ravi for check up and asks why he “inspires negative reactions from people.” In montage-esque form, Ravi recaps the evil deeds of the former Blaine. Why would Blaine sit through this if his memory is in tact? What would be his motive? And when Peyton comes to confront him again, I can’t help but want her to save him in some way. Even Major says he wouldn’t wish this memory loss on anybody, even his worst enemy.
Rita’s sporting a new color and a new transparent cell. Du Clark kidnapped his daughter and is keeping her locked up until he can find the cure to save her. Funny how it takes his daughter being turned into a zombie for him to realize that maybe they need a cure. But of course, Rita and the cure are not his top priority; it’s the launch of his new product, Super Max. I really hope Du Clark gets what’s coming to him.
In the dark Liv’s can’t focus on the case because she doesn’t know where undercover Drake is. She confides in Babineaux who tells her it’s common to go under ground while working a case. In an attempt to find answers, she “runs” into Drake’s partner, Detective Lou Benedetto (formerly Keith Mars), at the station. He tells her things she needs to hear in order for her to trust him, but it’s all a ploy to see what she know about his confidential informants at the college. Even though we know Drake is a zombie popsicle, learning that his partner crosses the line doesn’t bring much hope that things work out okay.
Not applicable We will not be losing Babineaux to the FBI. Bozzio wants him to apply, but he knows his work is in Seattle. Maybe Bozzio should consider transferring offices. According to Quantico, there are other FBI field offices.
Major take down Major’s plan to scratch Du Clark to test Ravi’s zombie cure on him to see if memory loss is really a side effect is interrupted by the FBI, who want him. Bozzio gets the break she needs to go after Major when a witness comes forward Major with the Minor the dog, one of the missing victim’s dog. The last we see is Major trying not to go raging zombie while being arrested.
