Rueben's Ramblings
Heading to WonderCon
This year will mark my sixth straight year attending Wonder Con; but this time around – unlike those past years – the annual pop culture event will be held in downtown Los Angeles instead of Anaheim. [It should be noted that the convention originated in San Francisco before being moved to Anaheim.]
Regardless of the location, I will heading to the event at the end of this week, spending Easter weekend at the convention that is a sister event to San Diego Comic Con, which will be held this coming July.
There are quite a number of TV shows that will be making an appearance at the annual fete, and that I hope to get into this year, include the following:
Stitchers and Shadowhunters from FreeForm
The Last Ship from TNT
Scorpion from CBS
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from ABC
Sleepy Hollow from FOX
Orphan Black from BBC America
The 100 and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow from The CW
In addition to these shows, I am looking forward to the annual TV Guide’s Salute to TV Showrunners (those are the folks who oversee all aspects of a given TV show for those who may not be familiar with the terminology) as well as a couple of other small panels if time permits.
I am also anxious to visit the exhibition hall because it is always fun to check out all the vendors’ tables – I love checking out all the cool t-shirts for sale, seeing what new promo photos for my favorite shows are available for purchase, visiting my favorite artists Jason Palmer and I can’t wait to purchase the Funko Pop Outlander figurines. Oh, and it’s always so very cool to see all the people who dress in costume.
I will have a report on what happened at the event in my column next Tuesday; and I hope our readers will check it out.
