SHADOWHUNTERS Recap: Moo Shu to Go

I’m thinking of starting a drinking game where every time Clary whines I take a drink. I mean honestly, she is consistent with the complaining. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way…

Alec and Isabelle’s Mom visits the Institute. She is not what you would call a warm person. After some verbal jabs at Isabelle and Clary she takes Jace and Isabelle to talk to downworlders. There have recently been a few problems and she needs to do some investigating. This leaves Alec at the Institute to look after Clary. Despite promising Jace he wouldn’t take his eyes off of her for a moment he gets distracted and Clary slips out.

Across town at a Chinese restaurant aka Werewolf Central one of the werewolves is trying to rally his pack to find Clary and retrieve the Mortal Cup. No good since Clary is out and about. Thankfully Alec finds her and accompanies her about town.

Because that isn’t enough Valentine is doing some rallying of his own. He is making more Circle members to join his cause.

Back in Brooklyn Simon has met up with Clary and Alec. He is exhibiting some pretty amazing physical abilities and he can also see ruins now. This makes me suspicious, but Clary apparently can’t be bothered to notice these changes in Simon. She is just intent on getting into her apartment to find a box she remembers her Mother having. One she hopes will help her find her Mom. Alec and Simon find it and they open it. They are about to look inside when they hear someone. Alec goes to check it out – werewolves. While he is out back the werewolves capture Clary and Simon.

Alec actually looks worried now. He texts Jace who is not pleased. Clary is taken to the werewolf hangout by Luke’s partner. He says all Clary has to do is give them the Cup and every thing will be fine. She swears she doesn’t know where the Cup is so they grab Simon and pull him into another room. He will die if Clary doesn’t give up the location of the Cup. After some more threats she sends the werewolves back to the apartment. She says the Cup is there.

Simon, using his new found strength, tries to break out of the cell he is being kept in. He finds a cell phone and calls Jace. They are on their way to rescue them. Luke gets there first and is attempting to rescue Clary when Alec and Jace show up. Before everyone can head back to the Institute the werewolves attack. At the last second another werewolf kills the Alpha, in turn becoming the Alpha, and is revealed to be Luke. Now they just need to get Luke to Magnus who is the only one who can cure someone bitten by an Alpha.

By the way – I counted 6 drinks I’d need to take if I was playing the Clary Drinking Game.
