SHADOWHUNTERS Recap: Dead Man’s Party

This week’s episode starts off with a very whiny Clary. She’s going to need to stop this and soon. You know who doesn’t seem to mind? Jace. He is all Team Clary. Let’s go get the Vampires! So of course that is what they do, a quick stop off in a cemetery for weapons and they are all set. Actually before getting the vampires Jace shows Clary how to use the glowing sword the Shadowhunters fight with. I’m pretty sure Clary momentarily forgot all about Simon and his predicament. She looks quite content to let Jace finish his tutorial. There is some hand holding and some close talking, all in the name of good technique mind you. I mean honestly, it’s a knife. Stab. Stab. Stab.

Simon meanwhile is being held hostage over at the vampire’s lair, a hotel. He is talking incessantly and annoying the vampire who is tasked with watching him.

While Alec is attempting to get a bow and some arrows from The Institute, Isabelle is getting information from an elf. That whole exchange involved some flirting/sex.

Clary and Jace make their way to a biker bar where Jace lets Clary get glamoured by a vampire. The same thing is happening to Simon over at Hotel Vampire. Neither are faring very well. Jace steps in at the last moment and punches the vampire charming Clary before stealing his motorcycle. The motorcycle runs on demon energy and moments after they take off from the bar they are flying.

Isabelle and Alec sneak into Hotel Vampire while Jace draws protection runes on Clary. Can’t have her being “charmed” again.

Clary, Jace, Isabelle and Alec meet up at hotel vampire and take out their attackers. They are on their way to find Simon, but they aren’t quiet about it and the vampire leader makes her escape. Meaning she isn’t around to see her second in command turn Simon back over to Jace and company. He wants none of this nonsense. Out on the roof, in the safety of the sunlight, Clary and Simon are reunited. Hugging ensues. Only it isn’t all happy, unbeknown to Clary, Simon can’t stop staring at the vein in her neck. Looks like Simon may be turning.
