Introducing: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

By  |

On January 21, the new drama DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will debut on The CW at 8 PM.

This new series is a spin-off (of sort)s from both Arrow and The Flash, taking characters (heroes and villains) featured in both shows, who are brought together by the Green Arrow and The Flash to battle Vandal Savage (Casper Crump, soon to be seen in the box office film The Legend of Tarzan), a 4,000-year-old immortal, who has manipulated leaders throughout history in an attempt to gain dominion over the entire world.

This unusual “team” was hand-picked by time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill from Doctor Who), who travels back in time to the present day in an attempt to prevent Savage from destroying the world and time itself. He brings together the following, who become Legends of Tomorrow:

Professor Martin Stein (aka one-half of Firestorm) [to be played by Victor Garber of Alias fame]: A nuclear physicist focused on transmutation.

Ray Palmer (aka The Atom) [to be played by Brandon Routh from Chuck and Superman Returns]: A scientist, inventor, businessman, and CEO of Palmer Technologies, who developed a power-suit, now capable of shrinking.

Sara Lance (aka White Canary) [to be played by Caity Lotz, reprising her role from Arrow]: After being resurrected by the Lazarus Pit in Arrow season 4, the former vigilante Canary takes on the alias of White Canary.

Mick Rory (aka Heat Wave) [to be played by Dominic Purcell of Prison Break fame]: An arsonist and accomplice of Leonard Snart who in contrast to his partner, uses a heat gun capable of burning almost anything.

Leonard Snart (aka Captain Cold) [to be played by Wentworth Miller also of Prison Break fame]: The son of a police officer who turned to crime uses a stolen cryonic gun to freeze objects and people on contact.

Kendra Saunders (aka Chay-Ara aka Hawkgirl) [to be played by relative newcomer Ciara Renée, reprising her role from The Flash]: A young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back.

Carter Hall (aka Khufu aka Hawkman) [to be played by Falk Hentschel from the box office movies Knight and Day and Transcendence]: The latest reincarnation of an Egyptian prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate Kendra, with powers similar to hers.

Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (aka one-half of Firestorm) [to be played by Franz Drameh, reprising his role from The Flash]: A former high school athlete whose pro career was derailed by an injury who now works as an auto mechanic.
