ADVANCED PREVIEW: Charming Christmas
How one long-lost, but recently discovered, Mrs. Claus dress changes the lives of three women is the focus of the upcoming Hallmark Channel holiday movie Charming Christmas, which is set to debut on November 8.
Julie Benz (Defiance) stars as Meredith Rossman, the uptight heiress (if you will) of Rossman’s Department store, a nearly 75 year old family owned business that is being primed as a national franchise by Meredith’s former college friend Daniel.
Meredith has made the business her entire life, leaving very little time for romance. Her parents – Harold and Cheryl – want her to be happy in her career but also in her private life, especially given the fact they are ready to retire, passing the mantle on to her very capable shoulders.
When her mother’s antique Mrs. Claus dress – which she wore during her first year working at the department store (where she also met Harold and fell madly in love) – is discovered (well-preserved inside a cedar box, I might add) hidden behind a bunch of accounting boxes by Olivia, Meredith’s assistant, things start to change.
Cheryl insists that Meredith wear the dress as part of their traditional Santaville set-up and work with the newly hired Santa Claus – Nick Smith (David Sutcliffe from Cracked and Proof). But given how busy Meredith is with Daniel and the franchise plans, Olivia and store window display designer Jessie are also roped into helping with the Mrs. Claus duties.
As in all other Hallmark Channel movies, Meredith and Nick begin to spend time together and, of course, fall for each other. There are complications along the way, though, but you’ll need to tune into the movie to find out what happens in their budding relationship and how the Mrs. Claus dress affects Olivia and Jessie as well.
Charming Christmas will debut on the Hallmark Channel this Sunday, November 8 at 8/7c.
