SCORPION Recap: Satellite of Love
Oh dear merciful heavens…they updated the opening sequence! Halleluja!
Team Scorpion spent their summer doing their own thing but now there is a case. Gallo is reinstated at Homeland Security and Walter is sprung a few weeks early from his post accident rehab. He has a metal brace on his hand and is still having dizzy spells but he doesn’t seem to take this very seriously. He is supposed to avoid stress as well, if their past cases are any indication this is going to be a problem.
Case of the Week
There is a new Director of Homeland (Alana De La Garza) and she needs their help to reroute a Russian Satellite that is on a collision course with Southern California. Oh did I mention it is a nuclear powered satellite…if it makes impact we are talking about ten million lives lost. They have three hours and they are going to need it because they are rusty. Their first few ideas crash…crash and burn. Yes I think I’m funny. When all hope has faded Walter gets one last idea, shockingly.
The solve requires Paige and Walter to go into the atmosphere in a weather balloon, set off an EMP pulse and then parachute back to earth. I’m not going to leave you in suspense – it works. The day is saved.
Paige & Walter
Paige almost immediately admits to Walter that she kissed him when he was in the hospital. She’s trying this thing called open communication. She wants to move forward as professional colleagues, that’s what’s best for the team. Of course Walter agrees, professional colleagues.
Later however Paige finds a file on Walter’s computer of the security feed from the hospital showing her kissing him – PLAYING ON A LOOP! Professional colleagues, huh?
During their trip to space Walter admits he has feelings for Paige but he can’t risk Scorpion…Professional colleagues.
Left alone at the end of the episode Paige and Walter decide to test “them”. What if they can be an item and work together? A kiss proves they have chemistry but they agree…professional colleagues. It’s what’s best for the team. I give them an episode and half tops before they succumb.
Happy & Toby
Toby makes an oddly sweet case for why he and Happy should date – it involves mold and cheese but trust me – it was cute.
He also saves her from going blind when a wire hits her in the eye so, what’s not to love?
Happy admits she is scared of getting hurt, Toby insists he would never hurt her. It looks like there is hope for them.
Now at Comic Con I asked specifically about the tech on this show. I was assured it was all possible, whatever they show us is real, maybe not used currently but it could be.
That being said, I’m still skeptical. Which brings us to…Questionable Tech:
Happy uses a car fob and fork to hack the Russian Embassy internet
