Preview: 10 Reasons Why You Should Watch HEROES REBORN

By  |

Let me start off by confessing that I was one of those who quit the original “Heroes” series after the second season. It became so convoluted that I couldn’t follow it anymore. That being said, I made a conscious decision to watch “Heroes Reborn” with an open mind and, thanks to NBC and all the promos, a renewed enthusiasm.

“Heroes Reborn” premieres Thursday, Sept. 24th, at 8/7c. Rather than attempt to write the typical review I decided to just list ten reasons why you should watch “Heroes Reborn”. And believe me, you should watch!

  1. “Heroes Reborn” has an awesome cast. Major props to the casting team.
  2. For all you “Chuck” fans, Zachary Levi is SO not Chuck in this show. I have a feeling this might change, but at first you will not like his character.
  3. I loved all the throwbacks to the original series. There may even be some that I missed but that true fans of “Heroes” will catch.
  4. The characters were all introduced in very interesting ways, and rich enough that I already care about them.
  5. The stories for this season were set up really well. Nothing was slow or boring. I can’t wait to see this all unfold!
  6. You won’t see Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) or Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) in the premiere, though they will definitely be on the show. You’ll get a glimpse of Suresh (Senhil Ramamurthy) and Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose).
  7. I’m not even going to try to figure out how they’re portraying Kiki Sukezane’s character.  I’m just going to watch and enjoy the freshness of it. And so should you.
  8. While there are a lot of similarities to the original series, “Heroes Reborn” nicely updates and refreshes the stories with the use of current pop culture and young characters.
  9. Jack Coleman returning as “H.R.G.”! Come on, that alone should make you want to watch!
  10. It’s going to be fun to once again try to figure out all the mysteries introduced in the premiere, as well as those to come. As I watched the 2-hour premiere, I couldn’t help but think about who is connected to whom from “Heroes”. Tommy (Robbie Kay) remembers being in Level 5 when he was a child, so did he know Molly Walker? I don’t even know if they’ll touch on that, it may not be relevant to his story, but just like the original series it’s certainly going to have us all gathering around the water cooler on Friday mornings to debate and share ideas from the previous night’s episode.
