THE LAST SHIP: Secrets Revealed
Way back in April at Wondercon, The Last Ship passed out shirts asking “R U Immune?” and at the time – well before the series returned, it was a confusing tagline to ask fans.
Now that the show is just about half way through into the second season, the shirt makes all the more sense. While it might have seemed that Mrs. Granderson was the evil at the start of it all, she was only one stop on a very big wheel that will challenge the Nathan James.
In truth, the naturally immune are the biggest and most dangerous villain to the Nathan James – and the Immune have been working very hard to keep their numbers small while the Nathan James wants to work hard to keep the world immune with the help of The Cure.
After the panel at Comic Con a few weeks ago, the cast and creator took the time to talk to reporters about where the rest of the season is heading.
Hank Steinberg addressed how and why the show decided to focus on the Immunes as the bad as well as other decisions for the rest of the season.
If you’re interested in more of what Steinberg said, watch the video below for more secrets from the press room. He was interested in discussing many aspects of last season as well as where this season is heading as we inch closer to the end.
Marissa Neitling and Travis Van Winkle were more interested in talking about the developing relationship between their characters while also setting up some of the larger problems for the Nathan James as the season progresses.
The pair jokes about starting with their characters relationships and what is in store as Lt. Foster advances closer to her due date.
Lastly, Jocko Sims and Adam Baldwin talks more about the relationship between the show and the Navy as well as teasing as to where the season could end up.
Adam spent much time talking about the show’s relationship with the military, especially when first questioned about the service.
But given everything that has happened since the Comic Con interviews, do you think that the crew of the Nathan James is safe? Our the Immunes not powerful enough for all of the Navy’s intelligence and determination? Does anything from the interview give you more hope? Less?
