Outlander Announces Another New Cast Member

By  |

Frances de la Tour

The casting announcements for season two of Outlander just rolling right on in; and with Comic Con 2015 happening next week (and the belief that the big announcements of which actors will be playing Brianna and Roger could be made during the show’s panel at the annual fete), another cast member was announced this week.

Actress and Harry Potter alum Frances de la Tour will playing Mother Hildegarde, a key figure in the second book “Dragonfly In Amber” [which is what season two will be based upon]. She is the intelligent and commanding Mother Superior who runs L’Hopital Des Anges in Paris where Claire (series lead Caitriona Balfe) volunteers her time.

de la Tour is an accomplished actress of theatre, film and television, appearing on the small screen in Poirot, Waking The Dead, Marple, New Tricks as well as the new PBS mini-series Vicious.

Outlander is currently filming season two, which is anticipated to air sometime in 2016 on Starz.

Using her favorite online handle, Rueben is an East Coast-bred gal who is now a permanent Californian and a lifelong tv-oholic. Some of her current favorite TV shows are Outlander, Sweet Magnolias, Wednesday, The Mandalorian, The Equalizer, Fire Country, Miss Scarlet, Hudson & Rex, SkyMed, The Rookie, Bridgerton, Cobra Kai, Virgin River, The Witcher, Leverage: Redemption and School Spirits.
