THE GOOD WIFE 6.21 – ‘Don’t Fail’ Mini Recap Crisis of Conscience & Second Chances

Alicia takes her husbands advice and meets with her ghost writer with very limited success. She flounders for a time, like we all would however her newest assignment comes about by accident. I really love how Alicia goes through the same shit we all struggle with in real life.

Polmar encourages her to take the case in spite of her “crisis of conscience” and reminds her people have already moved on. “I can’t take another failAlicia jumps right in on her newfound case with Brent Taetro. During court case we are treated with early flashbacks of Alicia and Carey. Kalinda and even Diane. Each memory refreshes some hard won and almost forgotten knowledge gained along the way.

In the end Alicia wins not only her case but her old confidence. She makes a bold choice. Why not open her own firm, again, and only focus on cases she believes in? Why not indeed? Alicia also decides Finn would make a most excellent partner. The episode ends without hearing his answer, but my money lies on YES.

Observaions:
• Kalinda is really gone and I can’t help but think she would have approved of Alicia dropping her name to the judge. Smooth!
