HELIX Recap: M. Domestica

By  |

I’m filling in for our darling Mynda this week who is a little under the weather. Don’t worry though; she will be back next week.

Helix is a trip and man do they fit a lot of goings on into an hour show. Let’s talk about what I “learned” this hour.

Ilaria is oddly like every other major clandestine corporation portrayed on TV. Sure it is run by immortals but their plan to take out part of the population and repopulate the earth isn’t a groundbreaking idea. It always cracks me up though. These crazy wealthy people are going to take out the undesirable people and live on this earth alone. Who is going to do their cooking and cleaning? Or their landscaping? They certainly aren’t.

Michael believes that by continuing to have children with his children’s children he will eventually have an immortal child. I’m no genealogist but this seems suspect to me.

Helix - Season 2Just as suspect as telling people someone died of a stroke when really you broke their neck. That’s pushing it. Even an amateur CSI could figure that out.

I get the plan to make everyone, or almost everyone, sick but I do not get how Amy framing her mother is going to stand up to questioning. Her Mother seems like a true believer, very devoted to Michael. She doesn’t seem like the one to make mass people sick, undermining Michael.Helix - Season 2

Be honest, when Peter Farragut said immortal child how many of you thought about Twilight? Just me?

Speaking of Peter, why in the world did he stand still looking up at Michael as Michael dumped hungry rats on him. Move out of the way man! Don’t just stand there!

Michael should be concerned about how easily Olivia rallied her fellow brethren to pick up hatches and machetes in order to free their sick friends and family from the “evil doctors”. I mean an ability like that could mount quite a coup if pushed too far.Helix - Season 2

Finally, Jordan gets quote of the episode with, “Texas Tech med school in Lubbock. That’s the Harvard of the panhandle.” in response to being asked rather snarkily if he really was a doctor.

Helix airs Friday 10/9c on Syfy

Leah reads constantly, sing incessantly and watches TV what her Mother would consider an unhealthy amount. You can find her on twitter @IamPollyP or contact her via email at leah@nicegirlstv.com
