NEW GIRL Recap: Thanksgiving IV
Schmidt proposes they celebrate Bangs-giving instead of Thanksgiving this year. Even Jess is on board as she is trying to forget Ryan. This can only end well. Schmidt passes around a Pilgrim hat, something I’m sure he just had laying around and they pick names. The rules for Bangs-giving are: You draw a name, that name is the person you bring a date for and no on leaves until everyone has gotten laid. That’s the holiday spirit.
Jess picked Pearl for Winston, the lunch lady from Jess’s school.
Winston picked Pepper for Coach from the Police Academy. Her arms are so muscular I’m worried for Coach if she squeezes anything.
Nick picked his own name so he decided to bring Tran, the silent Asian guy Nick runs his problems by sometimes.
Cece picked Schmidt and brought Lucy for him. Nick is not okay with this because he dated her once or something three years ago.
Coach picked Jess and wouldn’t you know it he brought Ryan. THE Ryan that Jess wants to do things too. Lots of things.
The group meets on the roof where Schmidt tells them to get it together. They will not ruin his holiday fun. They get back to the party where Nick flirts with Cece to try to distract Schmidt from Lucy and Jess decides she is going to just do Ryan and get it out of her system. She gets him into her room where she is wearing only an apron. He is intrigued until she uses the phrase, “bang one out”. He really likes Jess and is now offended. It isn’t just sex to him.
Nick and Jess end up on the roof where they talk about Ryan. Nick says the reason she won’t put herself out there with Ryan is because it scares her. She doesn’t want to be hurt. It would be profound coming from him if Cece hadn’t have just told Nick that is why he is only sleeping with trashy girls since Jess. Then he quotes the ultimate rule breaker Ferris Bueller, “Life moves really fast and if you don’t stop and look around once and awhile you just might miss it.”
Jess takes this advice and heads over to Ryan’s. She lays it all out before he pulls her in for a kiss and then some. Tran is picked up by his granddaughter who is pretty and Nick takes notice. Pepper and Coach arm wrestle and she lets him win. They celebrate with a kiss or two. Schmidt sent Lucy home as she turned out to be a little anti-Semitic. Cece’s date never showed and she tells Schmidt she knows there was never a date for her. They have a little moment and when Cece’s very hot date does show up she shoos him out of the apartment before Schmidt can see him. She spends the evening playing a board game Tran brought with Schmidt. Winston puts on Jess’s apron and gets it on with the lunch lady.
The episode ends with Jess in bed with Ryan watching Ferris Bueller.
