All I Want For Christmas: Outlander

By  |

As any of the NiceGirlsTV staff can attest, I have been obsessed with the Starz series Outlander, which is based on the international best-selling book of the same name by author Diana Gabaldon, for most of this year.

For those still unaware of the show that has captured the hearts of millions of readers all across the globe for the past 20 years and countless viewers over this past summer, Outlander tells the story of WWII British nurse Claire Beauchamp Randall (series lead Caitriona Balfe), who – while on a second honeymoon with her husband Frank (series regular Tobias Menzies) in Scotland – pays a visit to Craig Na Dun, an ancient circle of stones [think along the lines of Stonehenge] that transports her back to 1743 by the simple act of her placing her hands on the largest stone. In that time, she encounters the Clan McKenzie; and more specifically Jamie Fraser (series lead Sam Heughan), a young clansman who quickly befriends her despite that fact she is a Sassenach (an Outlander).

Outlander debuted on August 9 running for eight straight weeks, airing its mid-season finale on September 27; and while the remaining episodes of the show’s debut season won’t be back until starting on April 4, 2015, fans can enjoy re-watching the first eight episodes as well as watching the countless fan-made videos over at You Tube.

Fans can also add the following items to their Outlander Christmas wish-list that features the cast and crew in their previous projects:

7. Outlander Book Series – Of course, the Starz series would not even exist without the Outlander book series by author Diana Gabaldon. The first two books in the book series are what the current and much anticipated second season of the show are/will be based on.
