TV Calendar for November
The following list provides the dates of the returning cable and major network dramas as well as new cable and major network dramas, made-for-TV movies and mini-series that will air during November:
November 1 – The original Hallmark Channel movie One Starry Christmas will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: An aspiring astronomy professor finds unexpected Christmas romance when she meets a charming cowboy during her holiday travel. As she decides between this new cowboy and her practical boyfriend, she must decide whether it’s better to play it safe in love, or let an adventurous cowboy steal her heart. The cast includes Sarah Carter (Falling Skies), George Canyon (Heartland), Damon Runyan (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Paul Popowich (Cracked).
November 2 and November 3 – The two-night HBO movie Olive Kitteridge will air on HBO at 9 PM both nights
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film tells the poignantly sweet, acerbically funny and devastatingly tragic story of a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive (Frances McDormand), whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and staunch moral center. Richard Jenkins portrays Olive’s husband, Henry. The cast includes Bill Murray, Rachel Brosnahan (Manhattan), Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks), Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights), Audrey Marie Anderson (Arrow and The Unit) and Cory Michael Smith (Gotham).
November 5 – The new 6-part mini-series The Game will debut on BBC America at 10 PM
Mini-Series Synopsis: In 1972 London, tensions are at a terrifying peak as the world’s super powers plot against their enemies. The threat: a dangerous and deadly Soviet plot, designed to bring Britain to its knees, dubbed Operation Glass. When an MI5 agent is contacted by a defecting KGB officer about the plan to destroy the British establishment, MI5 leader, Daddy (Brian Cox from The Bourne Supremacy), assembles a secret committee to investigate the threat in a frantic race against time. Their mission is to stop the plot, save Britain and in turn, the world. The cast includes Tom Hughes (Dancing on the Edge), Marcel Lures (Foyle’s War), Paul Ritter (Quantum of Solace), Victoria Hamilton (Lark Rise to Candleford), Jonathan Aris (Sherlock) and Shaun Dooley (The White Queen).
November 6 – The final season (that consists of only 6 episodes) of White Collar will return to the USA Network at 9 PM followed by the return of Covert Affairs at 10 PM
November 8 – The Hallmark Channel movie The Nine Lives of Christmas will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: With Christmas approaching, a handsome fireman afraid of commitment adopts a stray cat and meets a beautiful veterinary student who challenges his decision to remain a confirmed bachelor. The cast includes Brandon Routh (Arrow and Chuck), Chelsea Hobbs (Make It or Break It) and Gregory Harrison.
November 8 – The season finale of Doctor Who will air on BBC America at 9 PM
November 9 – The Newsroom will kick its third and final season on HBO at 9 PM
November 9 – A Cookie Cutter Christmas is a new Hallmark Channel original movie will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Two longtime rivals and elementary school teachers (Erin Krakow from When Calls the Heart and Miranda Frigon from Primeval: New World) duke it out during the holidays in a Christmas cookie bake-off, but their real feud ignites over a shared interest in a handsome single dad (David Haydn-Jones from Dear Santa). With both determined to win the prize and the romance, their competitiveness could jeopardize what matters most this Christmas season. The cast includes Alan Thicke.
November 9 – The UP Channel original movie Naughty & Nice will debut at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Los Angeles and commuters have Pepper Sterling (Tilky Jones from Nashville), a cynical and funny radio comic, to keep them entertained. When Pepper’s latest radio antics anger an important advertising executive, he gets shipped over to a sister station, KBRG in Idyllwild, Colorado to serve out his suspension until the dust blows over. Sandy Love (Haylie Duff from 7th Heaven), following in her father’s footsteps, loves radio and came home to Idyllwild to host her own talk show. She is unapologetically romantic and nostalgic, especially at Christmas. Thrown together as co-hosts on her show “Dr. Love in the Moring”, she is immediately at odds with Pepper, who never met a sentiment he couldn’t twist into a punchline and has no use for Christmas. When Samantha and Pepper’s “war of words” catches the attention of the small town, their joint show becomes a hit and they start to see something in each other. The cast includes Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless and GCB) Maureen McCormick (The Brady Bunch).
November 10 – The Blacklist will air its fall finale on NBC at 10 PM
November 12 – Hell on Wheels will return to AMC at 9 PM
November 14 – The third season of Ripper Street will now air on Netflix, starting today
November 15 – The Hallmark Channel movie Northpole will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Northpole, the magical city where Santa and his elves live and work is in trouble. Families around the globe have gotten too busy to enjoy the season together, and Northpole depends on their holiday happiness to keep running. In the hopes of turning things around, a determined young elf befriends a little boy with a lot of spirit. His skeptical journalist mom doesn’t have room in her heart for anything but the facts, so it’s going to take a little nudge from his charming teacher to create an unbeatable Christmas team to turn around this town and share the importance of the season with the whole world. The cast includes Tiffani Thiessen (White Collar), Josh Hopkins (Cougar Town), Bailee Madison (Once Upon a Time), Max Charles (The Amazing Spider-Man and Neighbors) and legendary actors Robert Wagner and Jill St. John.
November 15 – The eight-part mini-series The Missing will debut on Starz at 9 PM
Mini-Series Synopsis: The series centers on the psychological fallout and ensuing years-long manhunt resulting from the sudden disappearance of five-year-old Oliver Hughes while on holiday with his parents in France in 2006. The cast includes James Nesbitt (The Hobbit trilogy), Tcheky Karyo (Goldeneye) and Frances O’Connor (Timeline and Mr. Selfridge).
November 15 – The second season of Atlantis will be back on BBC America at 9 PM
November 16 – The UP Channel original movie Paper Angels will debut at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Abused wife Lynn (Josie Bissett from Melrose Place), leaves her alcoholic husband Darryl (Russell Porter), with her two kids, Thomas and Sara, moving to another town where she works as a waitress to make ends meet. In that same town, we meet Kevin (Matthew Settle from Gossip Girl), whose Marketing & Design company is on the brink of shutting down due to the economy. Plus, Kevin’s wife Jenny (Kendra Anderson) is in a difficult pregnancy with twins. Thomas starts a new school and becomes the target of a bully who is threatened by how well he plays basketball. Unable to join the high school team, Thomas goes to the community center where he meets Kevin and the two of them become unlikely friends through pickup basketball games. Little do they know the tremendous impact they will have on each other’s families this Christmas through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.
November 16 – The Hallmark Channel original movie Angels and Ornaments will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Corrine’s (Jessalyn Gilsig from Glee) holiday season gets an unexpected dose of romance when she meets the mysterious Harold, who is on a deadline from a higher power to help Corrine find her true love by Christmas Eve. As the clock ticks down to Harold’s deadline, Corrine must decide if she will open up to Christmas love. The cast includes Sergio Di Zio (Flashpoint).
November 17 – State of Affairs to debut on NBC at 10 PM (taking over the time-slot from The Blacklist)
Show Synopsis: Each day the President is faced with dozens of life and death decisions, and to prioritize the biggest international crises facing the country, one top CIA analyst – Charleston Tucker (Katherine Heigl from Grey’s Anatomy) – assembles the President’s Daily Briefing (PDB). This list of the most vital security issues facing the nation brings with it moral and political judgment calls for Charleston and her trusted group of brilliant analysts at the agency. Aside from the political minefields she has to walk, Charlie has a close personal relationship with the President (Alfre Woodard) because she was once engaged to her son before a tragic terrorist attack took his life. Charlie survived that attack and is now determined to bring the perpetrators to justice. The cast includes Leslie Odom, Jr. (Smash).
November 20 – The fall finale of Parenthood will air on NBC at 10 PM
November 20 – The fall finales of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder will all air on ABC at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively
November 22 – The Hallmark Channel original movie A Royal Christmas will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A young working girl (Lacey Chabert from Party of Five) with a blue-collar background is surprised when her new fiancé announces he is actually a prince of a small sovereign country in Europe. After the couple quickly takes off to spend the holidays at his family’s sprawling, royal castle, she must work hard to win over her disapproving and unaccepting future mother-in-law—the Queen (Jane Seymour) —and find out if love truly can conquer all.
November 23 – The fall finale of The Good Wife will air on CBS at 9 PM
November 23 – Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas will air on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries will debut at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When the beloved quartet of postal detectives – Oliver (Eric Mabius), Shane (Kristin Booth), Rita (Crystal Lowe) and Norman (Geoff Gustafson) – discover an urgent letter written to God, they delay their own travel plans to help a little girl who’s mother’s life hangs in the balance on Christmas Eve. With guidance from a mysterious post office volunteer, Jordan (Rob Estes) and Oliver’s former Sunday School teacher (Marion Ross), the Postables are surprised to discover they’ve been a part of more than one miracle on this Christmas Eve.
November 23 – The UP Channel movie Christmas in Palm Springs will debut at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Parents separated and heading for divorce living on opposite sides of the country are brought together in Palm Springs by their kids, who are doing everything to get them back together before Christmas with a little help from a guardian angel. The cast includes Patrick Muldoon (Starship Troopers), Dina Meyer (Starship Troopers), Ian Ziering (Sharknado and Beverly Hills 90210), Bill Cobbs (Night at the Museum), David Chokachi (Baywatch) and Erin Gray (Buck Rogers).
November 23 – The Hallmark Channel movie The Christmas Shepherd will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A successful children’s book author and Army widow loses her late husband’s German Shepherd, Buddy, only to later find him adopted by a new family – a single father and his daughter. Each finds a sense of Christmas spirit as they struggle to decide with whom the dog really belongs. The cast includes Teri Polo (The Fosters) and Martin Cummins (When Calls the Heart).
November 23 – The Lifetime original movie Seasons of Love will debut on 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Kyla (LeToya Luckett, Single Ladies) and Amir’s (Cleo Anthony, Divergent) new romance is thrown for a loop when Amir’s father (Richard Portnow) suddenly passes away and Kyla’s ex, Miles (Rob Riley, Hit the Floor), comes back into the picture. The two struggle to determine what truly matters to them in this story of life, love and family. Taraji P. Henson stars and executive produces, while Gladys Knight and Cliff “Method Man” Smith also star.
November 24 – Major Crimes will be back for the remainder of its third season on TNT at 9 PM
November 24 – Gotham will air its fall finale at 8 PM on FOX while the first part of the strong>Sleepy Hollow fall finale will air at 9 PM
November 29 – The second season of Transporter: The Series on TNT will start at 9 PM
November 29 – Christmas Under Wraps is the new Hallmark Channel movie that will debut at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When a driven doctor doesn’t get the prestigious position she planned for, she unexpectedly finds herself moving to a remote Alaskan town. While she meets the locals and even starts a new romance, she has to learn to let the life she planned for give way to a love she never could have imagined, and finds this festive small town is hiding one big holiday secret. Candice Cameron-Bure stars.
November 30 – The original UP Channel movie The Tree That Saved Christmas will debut at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Imaginative, hard-working Molly Logan (Lacey Chabert from Party of Five) grew up on her family’s generations-old Christmas tree farm in rural Vermont and would often write stories about individual trees as they shipped out, her favorite being a “Charlie Brown” tree struggling to grow. One day, after hearing the roar of buzz saws used to clear the woods of sickly saplings, nine-year-old Molly ran to save her favorite – even after her father Gordon and his crew had made a gash in its trunk. She knew that someday this little tree would have a tale to tell. Now 29, Molly is pursuing her writing career in Manhattan. Unfortunately as Pendant Publishing CEO Walter Dunlap’s assistant, Molly has no life and little chance to write. She’s devastated to learn from her architect brother Ryan that the bank is foreclosing on her parents’ heritage tree farm. This will be her family’s last Christmas there. However, a frustrated Molly can’t make it home thanks to obligations to her boss and his young daughters. Much to her shock, Molly discovers that the Christmas tree she ordered for the Dunlap home is that same one she saved years ago. Certain that it is the same tree from her youth – and a sign – Molly drags the pine back to her Vermont home and embarks upon a plan to save the family farm – with some surprising, inventive help from her brother and former boyfriend/banker Lucas.
November 30 – The ION holiday movie A Christmas Mystery will air at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: While searching through her late mother’s attic, Rebecca uncovers sealed cards from a mysterious suitor that had been addressed to her widowed Mom over the past 12 Christmases. As she begins to wonder the identity of man, Rebecca hires a handsome, yet mysterious detective Andrew to help solve the mystery behind the letters. While working to unravel the family mystery, Rebecca and Andrew begin to fall for one another, but soon learn there’s more to the case than either expected. The cast includes Esmé Bianco, Ryan Bittle and John Ratzenberger.
November 30 – The next Hallmark Hall of Fame movie One Christmas Eve will air on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Anne Heche stars as a recently divorced mom who wants her two kids’ first Christmas “without dad” to be perfect. An entertaining but unfortunate series of Christmas Eve mishaps ensures that won’t happen – unless perfect means the family has its most memorable and heartwarming Christmas ever.
November 30 – The Mentalist will return for its final season on CBS at 9 PM, taking over the timeslot of The Good Wife
NOTE: The Mentalist will move to its return timeslot of 8 PM on Wednesday, January 7.
