Here are the casting couch features for this past week:
Actor Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie) has joined the cast of the upcoming ABC drama The Astronaut Wives Club, which is based on thee Lily Koppel book of the same name. The series tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. Bethel will play Scott Carpenter, the most laid-back of the astronauts and husband to Rene Carpenter (Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck). An official airdate for The Astronaut Wives Club has yet to be announced by ABC, but it will air sometime in 2015.
Actors Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) and Riley Smith (True Blood) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama The Messengers. The show tells the story of five strangers affected when a mysterious object hits Earth. After collapsing, all five individuals come back to life just hours later with inexplicable powers, including strength and the power to heal. But once things begin to become clearer, those affected realize that they might be Earth’s only hope for stopping the Rapture or perhaps, they’re causing it. Bamber will have the recurring role of Vincent Plowman, while Smith will play his brother Mark Plowman. The Messengers does not have an official airdate yet, but it will air sometime in 2015 on The CW.
Actress Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Life) will appear in an upcoming episode of Bones, playing Valentina, the New Age-focused doula (basically a mid-wife) for Daisy, who will be giving birth to her and the late Sweets (former series regular John Francis Daley) baby. The next new episode of Bones will air on FOX on October 23.
Actress Rebecca Wisocky (Devious Maids) will appear in an upcoming episode of Once Upon a Time as Madam Faustina, a charlatan who, in flashbacks, pretends to commune with spirits in order to swindle her customers by telling them made-up fortunes. Once Upon a Time will air its next new episode on ABC on October 19.
Actor Dean Stockwell will join his former Quantum Leap co-star Scott Bakula in the latter’s new CBS procedural drama NCIS: New Orleans. Stockwell will play Tom Hamilton, a proud and spirited retired New Orleans cop who still has his wits about him. When confronted by investigators about a murder 40 years ago, he arrogantly pushes back using his knowledge and experience. The next new episode of NCIS: New Orleans will air on October 21 on CBS.
