THE ORIGINALS: LEAH PIPES WARNS “STAY AWAY FROM SEXY VAMPIRES”

Are you guys excited for the season 2 premiere of The Originals tonight? I am! Before the big premiere, I wanted to share a sit down I was lucky enough to have with Leah Pipes (Cami). This summer at Comic-Con, I was lucky enough to get some season 2 scoop from her in The Originals press room. She was so fun to talk to. She was so thankful for all of the fans at Comic-Con and she said enjoyed meeting fans and thanking them was important to her. She said it was such an awesome experience to be at Comic-Con with The Originals. Our press table was a pretty fun one so she was comfortable laughing and joking with us. Wait until you see what she said about sexy vampires.

Leah said one thing she was looking forward to in season 2 was seeing Cami in her own element outside of Marcel and Klaus. Cami will be back to her degree in Psychology (she is a therapist) and Leah is excited to discover who Cami really is this season.

I asked Leah how she thought Cami’s life would change now that her uncle passed away. Leah responded, “I think Cami’s life is going to be different, not just because of her uncle passing, but she’s lost everyone and that has caused her to remove herself from the French Quarter and the heat of what’s going on. But with Cami being Cami, she can’t avoid the things that suck her back in-which are men with high cheekbones it seems.”

She said she really likes that Cami is such a smart female character and she was honored to say the lines given to her by the amazing writers. It is so important to have strong and smart female characters on TV, and she is thankful to be on a show that has so many smart female characters. I totally agree. I don’t just tune in to The Originals for the hot guys, the strong and smart female characters make this show a win in my book. I was so glad Leah touched on that because it is so important.

One thing she said fans can learn from The Originals, “The show says Hey! Don’t fall in love with vampires because it will ruin your life. Or Hybrids! Or just sexy men in general, sexy men are the worst! (Laughing) Accents are bad, if they can sing or they’re charming and they have high cheekbones, stay away!” (our whole table was cracking up). She definitely has a point there. You heard it here first peeps! Words to live by from the beautiful and talented Leah Pipes. Smart Woman! We will see how well Cami sticks to that advice (there are a lot of sexy vampires and hybrids on this show) in Season 2 of The Originals. Stay tuned!
