DOMINION 1.03 – ‘Broken Places’ Seedy Diner’s & Angel Tears
Stop me if you heard this before……So and archangel walks into a greasy spoon and meets with a traitor. William shows a little mettle when he complains to his god regarding Claire’s injuries during the attack on Alex. For his insolence Gabriel teaches his acolyte a lesson in pain involving a fork to the eye, bloody beatings and a severed head and is sent scurrying back to Vega.
Edward is upset. Higher angles are disguised as humans and he discusses his trepidations with his very own demon lover Clementine. Dude. I am beginning to seriously question your judgment.
Arika and David are still circling one anther like sharks. Each has something the other wants. David covets Helena’s Air Force while she is negotiating for her very existence. They play a dangerous game with the fate of their prospective cities in the balance. I can’t help but feel there is more to this cat and mouse game we haven’t seen yet. Even when Arika receives the worst Air Mail present ever in the form of her dead sister you would think her machinations are finished, but from the looks of the beacon she set off, the stakes are much higher than has been revealed to anyone thus far.
Claire is caught in a difficult position. The only way to help Help the people of Vega involves marring William and now that the General reveals his failing health a deal is made. Daddy draws up a bill of rights for the citizens of Vega and agrees to stop detaining it’s inhabitants and she will marry Wacko William. Oh! If she only knew the crazy she agrees to wed, I’m quite sure a different decision would be reached.
“We step into the light. The light of Gabriel.” Poor Edward, he actually believes Gabriel will save them all, further proving the damage caused from extreme poor parenting from David. And, what is the deal with that odd corset rib breaking induction ceremony? Ouch! Who made that up. What’s next? Foot binding??
Michael disrupts Alex’s road trip by Calling Shotgun on the way to New Delphi insisting on a quick detour along the way. Michael reveals how Alex’s mother met her death and his involvement in Jeep’s departure. The revelations from Michael are interrupted by a quartet of angels including Furiad bent on their destruction. Alex and Michael unite in fending off the raid, but not before Furiad lands a painful blow to our favorite brooding dark angel.
Now it’s Alex turn to rescue Michael and race him back to Vega for treatment. How does one heal an angel? I sure hope they figure it out, because Michael still has secrets to reveal.
Observations:
• Michael’s trip to the market revealed another secret in the form of Lewis, a refugee angel hiding out among humans. The plot thickens. How many more angels are out there unbeknownst to Vega? One thing is clear. Michael’s position: “Tell the others. Sand with me, or leave Vega.”
• David ever the clever schemer proves no deed is below his station when he blackmails Becca into spying on Michael, in exchange for keeping her penchant for sleeping with angels a secret.
• When Michael cries revealing his vow to do whatever it takes to protect Alex, we see that is quite literally true when he intentionally lowers his guard taking a blade to the side. Now THAT’S dedication!
• OH! Furiad! You are in SO MUCH TROUBLE! When he reveals to Gabriel he injured his brother Michael. Gabriel teaches the Red Angel a lesson he won’t soon forget. Apparently with angels. All is NOT fair in love and war.
