Here are the casting couch features for this past week:
The new drama series, the first for the cable network Bravo, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, which will star Lisa Edelstein (House) as a self-help book author who hides the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s in Los Angeles, has added to its cast with the following: Patrick Heusinger (Royal Pains and Revolution) will recur as Max, Abby’s brother and best friend; J. August Richards (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Angel) will play Ford, who is married to Max (Heusinger); actor Charles Mesure (Once Upon a Time and Crossing Jordan) will play Ralf, ex-husband to Phoebe (Beau Garrett from Criminal Minds) and C. Thomas Howell (Southland and Grimm) will play a love interest Abby. Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce is set for a 2015 debut on Bravo.
Actress Bex Taylor-Klaus (The Killing and Arrow) will guest star in an upcoming episode of the new TNT series The Librarians (based on the popular Librarian movies). She will play Amy Meyer, a type-A, overachieving high school senior who’s desperate to be a normal girl. The Librarians will premiere this winter on TNT.
Actor Craig Frank (the short-lived comedy Mixology and the Emmy-winning web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries) has been promoted to series regular on the upcoming mid-season thriller The Messengers. The series is what happens when a mysterious object crashes down to earth and how a group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse. Frank will play Alan, a likable techie who works with Vera (series lead Shantel VanSanten) at the NDSA – National Deep Space Agency. The Messengers is set to air on The CW sometime during the 2014-2015 TV season.
Singer/actor Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock and Glee) will make a guest appearance on Royal Pains later this season, playing Sam, the owner of a custom perfumery who loses his sense of smell and finds his career jeopardized. A new episode of Royal Pains will air on the USA Network on June 24.
Actor James Marsters (Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Caprica) and actress Bianca Lawson (Pretty Little Liars and Teen Wolf) will both appear in the upcoming second season of Witches of East End on Lifetime. Marsters will guest-star as Tarkoff, an old family friend of Joanna’s (series lead Julia Ormond) who comes back into her life. Meanwhile, Lawson will play a mysterious woman named Eva. Witches of East End will return on July 6 on Lifetime.
