Introducing CHASING LIFE

By  |

The new ABC Family drama Chasing Life will debut on June 10 at 9 PM.

The series follows April Carver (Italia Ricci from Unnatural History), a smart, twenty-something, aspiring journalist who lands a job at a major Boston newspaper. She’s a supportive daughter, granddaughter and sister to her family, who have recently lost April’s father to a tragic accident.

But just as she is poised to have it all, April ends up in the hospital where her estranged uncle (Steven Weber from Wings) works as an oncologist, who tells her some devastating news: she has cancer

April, however, refuses to give up her dreams; she fights to keep her life from unraveling, discovering new reserves of strength and passion within herself and finds that facing death may really be the only way to truly live.

April’s family includes widowed mom Sara (Mary Page Keller from Pretty Little Liars and Hart of Dixie), a professional therapist whose natural inclination is to over-analyze relationships and behaviors, causing tension with her daughters; rebellious teen sister Brenna (Haley Ramm from Without a Trace), tests the patience of her mother and envies her sister’s perfect image and her grandmother Emma (Rebecca Schull from Suits).

The cast of Chasing Life also includes Scott Michael Foster (Greek and Zero Hour) as Bruce Hendrie, the son of a wealthy gubernatorial candidate who struggles living in his father’s shadow and has a rather unpleasant encounter with April; Richard Brancatisano (from the Australian soap opera Home & Away), the Arts and Entertainment reporter at the paper, for whom April is attracted to and Aisha Dee (I Hate My Teenage Daughter) as Beth Kingston, April’s fun-loving but level-headed best friend.

Chasing Life will debut on ABC Family on June 10 at 9/8c.
