BREAKING NEWS: What CBS Has Picked Up (So Far)
Attention CBS Viewers!
While the network has yet to announce what dramas they have cancelled, they have announced what new drama pilots they have picked up to series. They are as follows:
Battle Creek stars Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters as cops in a rough Michigan town to sometimes bend the law to do their jobs. Shore revised an old script of Gilligan’s and serves as showrunner and exec producer with Mark Johnson and Gilligan for Sony Pictures TV.
Madame Secretary, from CBS TV Studios, stars Tea Leoni as a maverick Secretary of State who juggles world affairs and a complicated family life. Barbara Hall penned the script and exec produces with Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary for the duo’s Revelations banner.
NCIS: New Orleans sends Scott Bakula and Lucas Black to the Crescent City to oversee the naval investigative unit serving the Gulf region. The planted spinoff, which also features CCH Pounder, was introduced as a two-part episode of the mothership “NCIS” in on March 25 and April 1. Script was written for CBS TV Studios by “NCIS” showrunner Gary Glasberg.
Scorpion revolves around an eccentric genius who marshals a group of computer geeks to guard against modern-day cyber threats. Robert Patrick, Elyes Gabel and Katharine McPhee star. Nick Santora wrote the pilot and exec produces for Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci’s K/O Paper Products banner and CBS TV Studios. Justin Lin helmed the pilot.
Stalker is a dark drama set among investigators who handle stalking incidents for the LAPD. Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q star. Williamson wrote the pilot and is exec producer for Warner Bros. TV.
CBS already renewed the following dramas back in March: NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, CSI, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Elementary and The Good Wife.
UPDATED: CBS has also picked up the CSI spin-off CSI: Cyber most likely for mid-season. The show stars Patricia Arquette as Avery Ryan, Special Agent in Charge at the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI in Quantico, VA, who is tasked with solving major crimes that start in the mind, live online, and play out into the real world.
