Wonder Con 2014: Once Upon a Time

By  |

A panel for the ABC fairytale drama Once Upon a Time was held this past Saturday during Wonder Con 2014, featuring cast members Josh Dallas (Prince Charming/David) and Rebecca Mader (The Wicked Witch/Zelena) as well as series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis.

While most of the panel was focused on an exclusive screening of Sunday night’s episode entitled “Bleeding Through”, there was a little bit of time reserved for some questions.

First of all, Adam and Eddy were asked by moderator Jim Halterman from The Futon Critic where is the show going next? Their answer was: “It’s going to be a freight train of answers” leading up to the finale. It should be noted that there are only three more episodes of the show’s current season left, including a two-hour season finale.

Of course, the short conversation quickly turned to Rebecca playing the Wicked Witch with the actress sharing that it was “nerve-wracking to play a real bitch” (like the Wicked Witch); but she has tired “not to rip off other witches” in her portrayal. When asked about the make-up, Rebecca said it is “intense, but then once it is on, it doesn’t bother me as much”. It was agreed that all of the residents of Storybrooke will “have to band together to defeat” her.

When asked whether Henry (series regular Jared Gilmore) will get his memories back just like his biological mom Emma (series lead Jennifer Morrison), Adam empathically answered “No!”

Also during the panel Josh was congratulated on his very recent marriage to co-star (and on-screen love) Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/Mary Margaret), who is very pregnant with their first child; a pregnancy that, of course, was written into the show. A baby that will also play an important role in the remaining episodes if what was revealed in Sunday night’s episode is any indication. Josh also shared that if he had the chance to play a different character on the show, he would play Rumplestiltskin.

Lastly, the panel was asked about how it seems that Regina (aka The Evil Queen) [series regular Lana Parrilla) and Mary Margaret are ‘nearly besties’ at this point with Eddy admitting that he loves “the last scene” between the two of ladies in Sunday’s episode.

To see where Once Upon a Time will be going for the remainder of its third season, make sure to tune in to ABC on Sunday, April 27 at 8/7c.

In the meantime, here is a teaser for that upcoming episode entitled “A Curious Thing”:
