BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: Taking a Break

Tomorrow night the spring finale of Beauty And the Beast, the remake of the classic 80’s drama, will air on The CW at 9 PM; but that doesn’t mean the show is done for good (just yet). However, the network did already announce the five shows that received early renewals, but Beauty And the Beast was, unfortunately, not one of them.

When the series does return to the primetime line-up – an official date has not yet been announced by The CW – the show is really going to need a massive boost in the ratings to survive for a third season.

The show’s first season last year performed well in the ratings and the show also earned the People’s Choice for Favorite New Drama; but this season the show has struggled because of a creative change in the storylines as well as timeslot change that, sadly, has crippled the show.

In fact, the ratings have dropped so dramatically between the first and second seasons that fans of the series have been going to every measure possible to rescue the show.

For now, though, fans will have to be patient for the show’s return and hope the TV Gods are kind, allowing the show to either bow out gracefully or possibly come back for a shortened third season that will bring the show to a conclusion.

Watch the spring finale of Beauty And the Beast tomorrow night, March 10 on The CW at 9/8c.
