Breaking News: The CW Gives Early Renewals to Five Shows

By  |

The CW has given early renewals to the following five shows:

Arrow
Reign
Supernatural
The Originals
The Vampire Diaries

Fans of those five shows can breath easy, but the fate of the network’s other remaining shows – Beauty And the Beast, Hart of Dixie, The Carrie Diaries and The Tomorrow People – are still up in the air.

When these shows return from their breaks due to the Olympic Games (except for The Carrie Diaries, which aired its finale on January 31, and Beauty And the Beast, which has not taken a break for Olympics ], the ratings for every single episode will be vitally important for the longevity of each show.

Hart of Dixie will move to its new night and time as of March 21 at 9 PM and will need to pull in more viewers than The Carrie Diaries did on that night and The Tomorrow People will be back on February 26 at 9 PM and will need to improve on its ratings in its regular timeslot.

The fate of the new dramas Star-Crossed and The 100 will be determined once those shows have aired their run, starting on February 17 and March 19 respectively.

The CW has plenty of potential new dramas in the wings (i.e., The Flash, Supernatural: Tribes and Identity, just to name a few) that are waiting for the chance to take over a timeslot too.
