HELIX-1.06 ‘Aniqatiga’ It Gets Worse. Really.

Balleseros is rescued from sure arctic death by a Yeti and wakes up shirtless chained to a bed. Thank you Helix. Thank you very much. His rescuer reveals herself as Anana. His savior is a sheriff and she wants answers. Where are the children? Sergio continues his “I don’t know.” strategy which falls apart the moment he sees who he believes to be Daniel. The two scuffle only to discover Daniel’s long lost twin, Talook? WTF is going on here?

Alan catches Sarah disposing of a body. The two attempt to retrieve Dr. Walker from Level R, however the infected prove restless and they only survive thanks to some quick cutting by a hacksaw. I will say this. Zombies would be much easier to deal with. Vectors are freaking fast!

The pair share in some lab time and discover the virus is actually a delivery mechanism. They get busy in the lab with the a cheery version of  Sugar plum fairy wafting through the air and learn the Virus likes to twirl too! Seeing that virus hulk out again made me want to scream. “Kill it! Kill it! Kill it dead!” Powerful knowledge is gained however, through a discovery that it is slowed by extreme cold.

This gives Alan the genius idea to freeze his brother. Geez! Hasn’t this guy been through enough? Peter’s been infected, turned into a human Skittle, used as a guinea pig, and now frozen? When will enough be enough? And, while Peter is now drowned AND frozen the couple console themselves in each others’ arms. When the going gets tough, the tough make out. Right?

Julia (Kyra Zagorsky) meanwhile fell down the rabbit hole again and someone needs to take her hookah away. Was I the only one who picked up ‘The Shining” vibe from this. Thankfully we have a bonus in seeing Peter (neil napier) healthy. I almost didn’t recognize him.

Hitake is proving to exhibit healing superpowers and this time he is the one to care for Julia when she passes out. He injects her with ‘a sedative’ and promises her that she is going to be okay. Seeing him hover over her in obsessed adoration humming was freaking eerie.

After her injection Julia enters dreamland again and is suppose to remember something forgotten. She has a conversation with her younger self to discover she is in her Montana cabin. Soon everyone attends the party and seeing Hitake sweetly ask for the cranberry sauce while Peter and Alan bicker is terrifying. Jules is asked to carve and it’s a FREAKING GOO TURKEY! Well, that would make me wake up, and when she does, we discover Jules has been silvered!

Daniel admits to Hitake that Sergio is dead and Hiroshi gets angry. Now THEY will come. Who is they? If Silver Eyes is afraid, I am terrified. And, when they go in search for the body without success: “They” arrive and I don’t think Ilaria Corporation is bringing doughnuts.

Observations and Questions:
Why would Arcitc Biosystems abduct and experiment on children?
I don’t know the answer, but I’ve a feeling that Hitake was there from the beginning and now may be trying to make amends for his misdeeds. Adopting Daniel as his son may have been the beginning of his transformation.
What role does Julia play in all of this?
I feel that she is the key to everything somehow and getting silvered is just the beginning. Did she and Hitake begin their research together? It’s clear she has been to Arctic Biosystems before and she is hiding something, even from herself. Whatever it is, I’m betting it’s a doosey!
