DRACULA – 1.10 ‘Let There Be Light’ Season Finale

Like moths to a flame.
Neither can stay away.

VanHelsing arrives to administer Dracula’s infusion. Grayson is feeling quite positive about the Resonator’s impending demonstration. However, Abraham continues to be displeased. Grayson arrives with much fanfare to his Geomagnetic device. Alexander’s demonstration is successful, up until the point it explodes. Jayne finds Vlad amidst the rubble of his failed Resonator. He confronts her with two words. “Hello Jayne”
Vlad gives her the opportunity to walk away, but Jayne declines. The two share some bitch slap funsies however the Huntress is the one staked in the end. Dracula shows mercy in not turning her, which is disappointing, because that would have been a great storyline. Grayson discovers Mina at his mansion and finally we get to enjoy their first kiss and much, much more.

Lucy shuns the light and forces her mother not to summon the doctors. How long can she hold out against the hunger? Not long enough it seems, for Mamma     quickly becomes Lucy’s first meal.

Mina tries returns Jonathan’s necklace and the discussion turns dark. I’ve a feeling this scorned lover may be trouble for everyone. Harker presents himself to Grayson and confesses the truth over Lord Davenport’s death. Alexander gives him a pep talk and sends him out to face the reporters. Jonathan’s head is spinning, but his hatred of Grayson quickly clears the mind. He smuggles saboteurs into the Resonator Room. After hearing of their plans that would result in the mass murder Harker fears for Mina who will be attending the demonstration. Jonathan is successful in removing Mina just before the explosion, but his hate cconsumes him still.
This guy has a back of knowing who to sponge from and he is drawn to Dr. Wackadoodle Van Helsing who promises to teach him how to destroy Dracula.

The Seer, Loiza Scaverra, arrives looking like an Elton John reject. He comes bearing a relic, The Blood of Christ. Lady Jayne is determined to run Dracula to ground and dispatches her team of Hunters in pursuit. The Seer uses his relic to locate a Vampire Nest and it’s occupants are quickly exterminated. When the Seer finally divines the identity of Dracula, the look on Lady Jayne’s face is priceless. Someone should have told Vlad about the dangers of a woman scorned.

Mr.Browning receives a message and his wife blames him for the loss of their children after a severed finger is delivered. Browning arrives to pay the ransom and discovers his kidnapper. Abraham reveals himself and confronts his nemesis.  The two reminisce over old times and Abraham reunites him with his lost children. However, something is amiss. The children have been turned and look who’s for dinner! Daddy dearest! After torching the place, Abraham joins the children in their screams. It appears that his mind is shattered.

Renfield is dispatched to locate Dr. VanHelsing. Abraham whistles while he works and after his notes are up in flames, he proceeds to trash his entire laboratory in grand fashion. He catches Renfield by surprise and leaves him lying in the ruins bleeding after gutting him lie a fish.

Observations:

• Lucy will most likely be a very troublesome vampire.
• We did not actually see Renfield die.
• Abraham chooses a new partner in Harker and their united pain is Vlads greatest threat.
