Rueben's Ramblings
Excitement for Paley Fest 2014
In about two months’ time, the 31st Annual Paley Fest, hosted by the Paley Center for Media, will run for two weeks at its new venue: the Dolby Theatre, formerly the Kodak Theatre, in the heart of Hollywood, California.
I am proud to say that this year will mark my tenth straight year attending the annual Paley Fest and I look forward to each yearly event with much anticipation.
The panels for this year’s event will include the following:
March 13 (Opening Night Presentation) – The cast of the acclaimed series, and the upcoming fan-funded box office film, Veronica Mars will gather for a reunion;
March 14 – The online sensation Orange Is the New Black will take the stage;
March 15 – The long-running CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother will make a farewell appearance;
March 16 – The double header for the day will include a matinee with the cast from the ABC Family soap opera Pretty Little Liars followed by a 10th Anniversary reunion of the cast of the ABC juggernaut series Lost;
March 18 – The fan-favorite NBC comedy Parks and Recreation will entertain the audience;
March 19 – The most-buzzed-about new drama of the current TV season, FOX’s Sleepy Hollow, will take the stage;
March 21 – One of the most awarded cable series, AMC’s Mad Men, will return to the event;
March 22 – Another double header will happen with the cast and creative teams of The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and The Originals taking the stage together;
March 23 – The Marvel universe will be represented at a matinee presentation with the cast and creative team of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.;
March 24 – The provocative Showtime series Masters of Sex will take the stage;
March 25 – The popular FOX comedy The Mindy Project will thrill their fans;
March 26 – The over-looked but fan-favorite NBC comedy Community will make a return appearance;
March 27 – The HBO comedy Veep will take the stage for the first time at the event; and
March 28 (Closing Night Presentation) – The folks of the FX anthology series American Horror Story: Coven will close out the two-week fete.
Details on which cast members and creative teams will represent each panel are yet to be announced.
From what I have learned, showrunner passes and studio passes, which are one ticket for each of the panels in one package or tickets for 4 specific panels in one package respectively, have already sold out with pre-sale tickets going on sale throughout this week. You can learn more about the tickets itself that remain available and the event here.
